I broke it becouse I didn’t have clip for ch341 so I desolder it from board and solder it in wrong way on breakout board I just see white smoke.

How can I increase the PL to 56W without turning on Turbo Mode and turning my laptop into an airplane taking off (in terms of noise)? I’m not running Predator Sense (don’t even have it installed), and I’m relying on Throttlestop to get as much performance as I can from this laptop. I seem to hit the 45W PL after just 30 seconds or so (when doing a performance test, gaming doesn’t seem to hit the 45W limit that early).

Very simple, just set it in xtu
But what I noticed, unless you installed PredatorSense, 56w set in xtu will be ignored
I can suppose that during installation PredatorSense it sets some flag in EC or somewhere else which increases PL1 from 45 to 56
So after installation, you may even never open this PredatorSense just set your profile in xtu (I didn’t try other apps) and you will have 56w even with fans on auto
I have cpu temp 73C under stress test with power limit throttle at 56w and quiet fans at just 3200 rpm

Tomorrow I will finally receive the soic8 sop8 and the usb programmer CH341A …
To be clear I will dismount the mobo to access the 8 pins eeprom (right?) will look for your pictures to help me out (the eeprom is on the edge of the MoBO if I reckon)
do you recall the specs of the chip in case the flash programmer app don’t recognise the chip and I ll flash the chip with the bin file Lost gave us right ? Or I have to use a dump of mine ?

All right,
1st thing after you remove bottom cover - disconnect battery and remove it completely (unscrew 2 screws)
Then disconnect 2 fans, unscrew 2 screws on each and remove fans
Then unscrew 8 screws from cooling heatsink and remove
When disconnect all cables, be careful as most of the connectors open as door, especially those big flat cable between main board and small board with usb an$ headphones
Then unscrew all screws from motherboard and remove it
On opposite side you’ll find one chip with 8 legs
Connect slip clip to it and read bios rom via flash programming app, use AS Prograamer 1.41, Colibri, CH3141 Programmer v.1.18, don’t use ver 1.34
If you connected properly you must see some data in each app, ie some bytes not FF
If it asks for bios type, choose with BV in last letters
It’s tricky to connect a clip properly, initially I tried upto 10 times before I can read data
After you read correct, you may dump your bios
After it, erase bios chip in every of apps - colibri, ch312, as programmer
Then open a dump and choose write, better use as programmer
Then copmpare bios data with initial dump, it must match in every of those 3 apps
Then put motherboard to case, connect only 4 cables - power, screen and 2 cables from keyboard
Put heatsink and screw just few screws
Then mine to if thrush - turn on and wait for several minutes, after a self test, your fans must turn on, keyboard must lit and not lit off, and finally you must hear magic predator sound and screen must turn on
If it is so - assemble everything for long tenement use, apply thermal paste etc

Two questions have not more thermal paste and thermal pad should buy new ones before proceeding ? Heat sinks have to be both dismounted or not ?
Another question why dumping the bios ?
For me I reflash with the bios made by lost or iam wrong … and why using three ap on you tube guys are using the main app on the usb stick , you install the drivers and that’s it ?!
Keep old white thermal pads and pink paste on vmem chips, you can reuse it
For cpu/gpu use any what you have, this submit your main issue at the moment)
Make a dump just in case, optional step, if you want to keep you current max address and guid
Heatsink must be dismounted you can’t remove motherboard due to cable from turbo button under heatsink
You flash the bios made by me completely if you take my bios dump
Ok will see concerning the GUID something I don’t get I have the bios in the computer with my own GUID I using THE SAME BIOS and reflash it why should GUID may change ?
Why dumping a bios is usefull before modding with a new one that’s a fact but in my case iam just reusing the same bios over the corrupted one

I don’t understand which dump you want to flash, i thought mine I shared recently
Don’t connect ac of coz or you burn the move, you already supply 3 or 5v from programmer which isn’t to good
“Lost bios “made a bin file I will use that already modded with offset limit and with good GUID so I can reuse the modded bios …
Dump was made on the laptop so I don’t have the stock bios I could get it to acer website the 1.08 but I have already the modded one also in v1.08 made by Lost in bios will use it why not ?!
Why should I dump a bricked bios ?

To sum up I will fully disassemble the laptop take the mobo appart, plug the usb programmer in an another Windows pc, install the driver on it, launch the 341a programmer app installed on the usb stick, find the eeprom on the mobo and plug to it the Soic pin with the wire and on the usb programmer you got two leds : one when usb is plug and on going red flashing and an other red led switch on when the connection with the soic pin is established … then going back to the second pc launch the detection of the setup and start to read in memory if it does I’ll open the bios I want to auto erase the chip and I will write it back …

I have purchased thermal pads BTW and kryonaut grizzly thermal paste so I postponed the operation until I get these
First connect clip to the chip and then connect programmer to another pc to usb, just to not mess with supplying voltage before all connected
One wire on cable marked by red connected to 1st pin on bios chip, it’s marked by dot. Similarly connect red wire to programmer properly, here I don’t remember how to define
You don’t need new paste or pads for awhile you need to check it’s alive at all and old paste is enough for few minutes of test

Ok no iam not a nasa guy the fact I want to do all the things right and don’t do it twice in few weeks iam starting my pentesting courses I can’t miss the opportunity and have a non functional laptop …
Laptop will be stressed up at max iam doing password cracking with it on huge dictionary list so the cpu will be maxed out for hours and I need it fully stable @ 4GHz without throttling nor heating 75C must be the max temp for long period of time I don’t trust the 105C intel limit …
There is limit 56w which won’t allow you to have Cpu above 3.6 depending on instructions you use, you can see it in Prime95
For simple calculations without Avx etc 4Ghz on all 6 cores is possible though
Hi guys, do you want to ask is it possible to re-flash from the old to the old or the current BIOS? At the moment I have the current v1.08 and I wonder if it is possible what I saw on Youtube from Acer laptop re-flash using USB. Is it possible to do at least an older version of Bios or a MOD BIOS (or just using programming pliers)?

And my next question about the installation of WIndows 10. I want to install Windows 10 but at F12 I do not see the USB drive … I downloaded the Windows tool from Microsoft. And I would like to do dual boot with Linux on PC :).
I like to do anything, so I would also wonder how the bios are modifying. I am curious about starting IT boy

Unfortunately for me predator don’t allow this feature I saw this technique also on YT with plenty laptop on the market and also acer one but no luck for me tried to do a usb recovery stick rename bios file rename the modded bios rename the stock acer one the fact it won’t initialise the operation on my bricked laptop …
So I bought a usb programmer ch341a and Soic8 clip with the wire to reflash the bios …
Will do also full repaste with non conductive thermal paste like kryonauts because I think metal liquid is risky, conductive and overkill for the laptop
Hyppo iam stuck with the battery screws which screwdriver you used to dismount it
Torx mine don’t work at all no luck
there are two plain philips screws
