I heard about method which needs to use some AMI tools, and to set some values to “user” or “supervisor”,and some which needs some other tools like UEFITool and other stuff…
What method works the best for a newbie like me? My mobo is asus p9x79 pro, bios version 4801. Will AMI method brick my motherboard? I heard that some settings set to “user” or “supervisor” will brick it…
Thanks for telling me this precious information, i will try to do it gradually.
And if you can answer, what tool i need to flash such modded BIOS? will stock ASUS ezflash utility accept it and start flashing? Or i need something else?
What should i set for sub-settings and root setting? “User” or “Supervisor’“ ?
Will DOS work? like AFUDOS or other flashing apps?
Things working out… unlocked PCI Sybsystem in bios, things going well for now..
Apparently my success ended here… On all i used USER, i suspect i only needed USER on blank adresses, not on all…
Tried to unlock extra System Management options, fail… will try it later. Also had some weird issues with Flashback, turned out it was picky on my 7 gb usb drive, 64 gigabyte formatted in FAT32 solved this.
Despite even being set to “USER”, they just dont display at all.. I guess i have to use UEFITool now to solve this with ifr extractor, seems like just changing access in AMIBCP wont solve this..
Wrong… not ALL, only parent menus under the ones already visible and ONLY any individual strings if still not showing after unlocked parent ones.
Or try the tool…
