Hi,
I know a lot of people have been requesting MSI for years to allow users to have the option to disable SB Spread Spectrum and BCLK Spread Spectrum as it causes RTC timer and overclock issues. I know they used to have those options in the BIOS, but have gotten rid of it.
I recently was able to finally upgrade from an old pc set up to a z490 unify with a 10700k, but then ran into this unfortunate issue that I did not know existed (was using an ASUS motherboard).
As of now, MSI users only have the ability to disable PCIe Spread Spectrum, but that does not alleviate the issue that so many people have.
I’m not sure of the microcode to look for, as this is all new to me, but here is the latest BIOS.
https:// www. msi. com/Motherboard/support/MEG-Z490-UNIFY – i can’t upload links since im a new user but the latest bios:
Version
7C71vA8
Release Date
2021-04-27
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Let me know if there’s any thing i can do to help or if there’s more information that I can provide
EDIT: yikes apologies, i really wish i could post links so it wouldnt have to be so tedious for whomever is willing to help out
