Hello,
I’m requesting help unlocking the BIOS for my Gigabyte AORUS 17X (2023 model, AZF/AXF depending on region). I need access to advanced settings such as:
- Intel VT-d (Directed I/O)
- Kernel DMA Protection toggle
- Thunderbolt Security policies
- Virtualization-Based Security (VBS)
- Advanced chipset / power management options
These are currently hidden or unavailable in the BIOS UI, even after updating to the latest firmware version.
System Details:
• Laptop: Gigabyte AORUS 17X (2023)
• BIOS Version: 2.22.1288 (UEFI)
• CPU: Intel Core i9-13980HX
• Chipset: Intel HM770 / Raptor Lake
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090 Laptop GPU
• OS: Windows 11 Home
• Thunderbolt 4 port available
• Secure Boot disabled
• VT-x is enabled, but VT-d is missing
Goal:
I require full DMA access for hardware-assisted development and external PCIe tools. I’d like to disable Kernel DMA Protection, unlock VT-d, and expose any advanced/hidden menus that may control Thunderbolt, virtualization, or ACPI behavior.
Willing to provide:
• BIOS backup (via FPT, CH341A, or AFU)
• Serial number or UUID if needed
• Screenshots or logs from msinfo32
, Windows Security, or BIOS menus
• Donation/compensation for working BIOS mod
Let me know what you need to proceed (e.g., BIOS dump or Intel ME info), and I’m happy to assist.
Thanks in advance!
– Ario
