[Request] Update Realtek Undi in ubu

Hello everyone,

I am looking to update the EFI Realtek Undi Driver in ubu.
Currently the current version is 2.056 and I want to upgrade it to 2.059. Available on realtek.com (RtkUndiDxe.efi release 2.059 06/17/2022). I replaced the old version with the new one in the realtek folder of UBU, but that is not enough, because I believe that the .lom file (rtegpxe.lom) is missing in the “25G” or other appropriate folder.

Can you help me with this task please?

THANKS.

LOM for legacy boot, check the dos section on realtek.com

Thx lfb6 for your reply.
I can’t find a .lom file for the driver, or it’s me who doesn’t understand, well that’s for sure. lol
I am attaching a capture to perhaps make myself better understood.

Check the PXE Roms (you didn’t even mention which chip)

He wants the EFI driver, currently UBU doesnt correctly identify the 2.059.

He’s writing about a ‘.lom file’?

For the efi driver: Drvver is too old and no longer updated, possibly just a display problem.

(Not clear to me why someone wnats to update these drivers, most people never boot via PXE all their lives?)

OK thanks.
I thought the update was important. So I’ll leave it as it is. Thanks again.

No, this driver is only used when in EFI environment, enables a ‘network- harddisk’ to be used as boot device.

Ubu might work with replacing the driver, though. The output of drvver.exe isn’t needed for proper function, but the question is if it’s still safe for later bios versions.

What board is this?

Ok thanks for enlightening me.
This is for a gigabyte b550m ds3h ver.1.4

Seems UBU does it’s job, but it does look a little unhappy:

In the modded file it shows 2 drivers, but there’s just one. However, if you use UEFITool 0.28 to exchange the body of the PE32 image section with the new Realtek Undi efi driver, the result is 100% the same and looks good…

Thank you for trying to help me, man. But, my computer skills are limited lol.
I will leave it like that.
It’s not serious.

Slightly corrected the files, now UBU recognizes them. :slightly_smiling_face: RtkUndiDxe
