@Loveless - what Xeon specifically? Or, if you want more than one, what CPUID’s do you need added
So, you want to test removing “Express Gate” from this BIOS too? If yes, I can see if I can identify the module and remove it, that may make it appear like the crossflashed BIOS.
Did you test disable express gate in BIOS, and see if that does same?
Sorry, this BIOS is too old for me to identify and remove a module that may be express gate, nor would I feel safe handing you a BIOS with some module removed from older BIOS Like this
Actually, if you have flash programmer, I found a module that has Linux on it, so I assume this is probably Express Gate. I can remove this, but only if you have flash programmer to recover in case it bricks, otherwise not really worth it (order CH341A programmer + U Type Flat IC extractor and then when it arrives we can test)
Well, i will use a Xeon X5675, its enough for me.
And I can order a flash programmer.
OK, I will make you BIOS later today, just getting ready to hit the hay right now.
For programmer, you need CH341A + U Type Flat IC extractor, you can get both of those for less than $5 total on ebay, shipped slow from China (3-5 weeks). If you need linked examples let me know.
Nice, Drop the link will order.
@Loveless - Here is linked examples on ebay, cheapest shipping etc. But, you can find at other places like Amazon or other shops that sell lots of computer stuff too, that may ship to you faster for more $$
Some sellers on ebay may ship faster too or be more local to you. So these just examples so you see what you need.

Here is BIOS mod with the following changes - http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fil…728923128315599
Added
206C0 (Westmere-EP ES)
206C1 (Gulftown ES)
206C2 Gulftown
Removed (dupe) 106A4
Updated all to latest possible, or 2015 versions so Pre-Spectre/Meltdown
BIOS now contains the following microcodes, before/after image included in download
106A0, 106A1, 106A2, 106A4, 106A5, 206C0, 206C1, 206C2
Will take a while to test but , I will inform you.
And about that express gate mod? did you made it too?^
@Lost_N_BIOS
@Loveless - OK, thanks, yes, please let me know once you test. No, that does not have anything done about Express Gate, only microcode changes as mentioned.
I habe a P6TD Deluxe and a X5650 CPU. I tried Cross flashing the original 0006 but ist is not booting. As far as I understood it is because of the missing CPU. So with your modded version ist could work. Am I right or do I need other mods?
Thanks
@Dave - link me to the BIOS you are using and I will edit in X5650 microcode, if it’s not there already. If it’s there, then you have other reason why it’s not working fore you.
* Edit - For P6TD Deluxe, X5650 should already be working and compatible with original stock BIOS (latest version too) - No need to crossflash or use old BIOS etc.
Flash back to original proper BIOS, then update to latest, and use your X5650 like a normal CPU. If it’s not booting, then may be dead/faulty CPU, test on another board to confirm, or return for replacement/refund and purchase from another seller

@Lost_N_BIOS thanks for your reply. I agree staying on the actual bios 0608 would be the best. This is also running fine at the moment. My only problem is the throtteling of the turbo multipler at overclocking. That‘s the reason why I thought about the 0006. Or is it also possible to fix/mod this in the official bios?
I am having backup bios chips, so hotflash is no Problem if something goes wrong
@Dave the throttling may be due to VRM temps, do you have a non Xeon BIOS you can confirm this with? Put a fan on VRM and see if throttle happens at same exact time or not.
Or, it could be microcode issue, did you try updating microcode for your CPU in 0608 BIOS to 2015 version?
@Lost_N_BIOS This issue is appearing on the x58 Asus motherboards on clocks higher then 4Ghz. Only the 0006 bios is solving this because it is an beta bios from asus. You can set the TDP higher on this bios. But the 0006 is not working on the p6td deluxe. So the idea was to vring this function to a working bios. But so far I have no idea by myself for coding this stuff
@Spiaron
The updated microcode “cpu206C2_plat03_ver0000001F_2018-05-08_PRD_77DADA73.bin” covers the following cpus as per Intel Aug 2019 guidance found here:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/pu…te-guidance.pdf
Scroll down to “Westmere” processors on page 21 for confirmation…
Intel® Xeon® Processor W3670, W3680
Intel® Xeon® Processor X5647, X5650, X5660, X5667, X5670, X5672, X5675, X5677, X5680, X5687, X5690, X5698
So you should be good to go!
Cheers
Hans
Sorry for taking so long to give you a feedback about your biosmod.
The board arrived with an i7 920 and i got 2 samples of X5675.
The bios programmer is working fine.
The board came with 2209 bios version, the lastest from ASUS official Site.
No problem with X5675 to post.
With your modified bios I cant boot with Xeon but works fine with i7 920.
Can you check its everything ok with the mod on 0006 bios?
Thanks @Lost_N_BIOS
Hi. is there any chance that I can enable offset vcore mode instead of only manual or auto? thanks
Hi,
all the tinyupload links are not working, is there a chance for a reupload?
My current issue:
While cleaning my pc from dust I’ve decided to flash a meltdown/spectre modded bios (via motherboard built in tool) which I’ve got from techpowerup forums. Now my computer turned to shit. Every time I unplug the pc from wall (or my house loses power) the bios loses all of it’s settings (date and time stay). Afterwards, tried 3 different mbo batteries, resetting everything, flash with the original Asus bios, and the problem persists. Sometimes, it even won’t boot up. Your modded bios is my last hope of retaining my board and cpu which I dearly love.
CPU: X5675 (usually oc’ed to 4,3) MBO: Asus P&T (vanilla), 24 GB ram…
Tried it about 8 times, no joy… The problem persist.
After boot, I set every setting, and after power loss they are lost. Sometimes computer even won’t boot. Didn’t have any issue before trying the meltdown/spectre bios mod. That’s why I would really like to try 2015 bios mod which can be found in this thread. Unfortunately all links don’t work.
