Reset NVRAM in Lenovo IdeaPad 320-17IKB type 80XM (InsydeH2O BIOS, can be unlocked)

Hello,

I want to reset the NVRAM in this device. I can unlock advanced settings and access them, so that is alright. But not sure whether the option is there. I would prefer to keep disassembling as last option if possible. Any help is appreciated!

Device still booting?

  • vendor providing a ‘reset procedure’
  • load *defaults might reset parts of NVRAM
  • flashing program for the respective machine might have a switch
  • CH341 programmer

Device bricked

  • vendor providing a pre boot ‘reset procedure’
  • CH341 programmer

There might be some machine specific data in the NVRAM, different flash programs might do unpredictable things and of course a default set for the NVRAM should be somewhere in the bios region, without any information how to initialize the hardware the machine might get bricked.

It wasn’t really bricked, only Windows stopped booting plus bootable media by using Windows 10 Team which has overwritten the NVRAM

Going to reflash an old copy of my BIOS using a programmer

And SUCCESS! Everything is alright now.
