Hi Win-RAID forum,
The latest driver of rst(e) 3.8.1.1006 dated 25/09/2013, it seems that intel stop this branch version or not ?
Aside the additional SCSI filter driver, how it’s different than the 13.0.0.1098 ?
And wich one you suggest to me ? (this is my home Pc).
thanks.

@ Ghostearth:
Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!
Only Intel employees can answer this question.
Both drivers (RSTe v3.x.x.xxxx and RST from v11.5 up) have an additional SCSI filter driver. If you are running your Intel SATA Controller in AHCI mode, you can use them both (RSTe or RST). If you should have a RAID system and want to use an Intel RST driver, you have to use the related RST BIOS settings.
You should find it out yourself by testing them both. Many X79 users prefer the RST drivers, because they got a better performance.

Thank you Fernando.

@Fernando
So i switch to 3.8.1.1006 from 13.0.0.1098, no problem at all.
Just one thing, in the device manager with the 3.8.x driver, it’s installed under storage controller with the marvell one, now with the 13.x driver, it’s installed under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller and the storage controller get just the marvell one why???
thanks

This is nothing to worry about. The RSTe drivers v3 are recognized by the OS primarily as SCSI drivers and not as AHCI drivers, whereas it is vice versa with the RST drivers from v11.5 up.
Fernando, thanks you so much for fast response, it’s clear now.
danke schön
