RSTe Driver for ASRock H81M-DGS R2.0?

Hi!

A friend of mine just bought an ASRock H81M-DGS R2.0 mainboard for his "home entertainment" server. He is unsure which version of the INTEL RSTe drivers he should use. The Mainboard has no raid support, so it will run in AHCI only. With standard Win7 (64bit) AHCI drivers he had some problems with his SSDs, so he wanted to try the drivers from INTEL. Latest version of the RSTe drivers on the ASRock homepage is 13.1.0.1058, should he use these or maybe the v13.6.3.1001 or even v14.5.0.1081?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

For Intel 8-Series Chipset systems running in AHCI mode I recommend to choose any Intel RST(e) driver of the v13 series. The performance differences are minimal.

Thanks for the fast answer. Are there any differences stability wise between 13.1.0.1058 and 13.6.3.1001 drivers?

His system will run 24/7.

I don’t know about any differences regarding the stability.

Thanks again, I will tell him to use the 13.6 drivers.

Edit: Ahhh, can he use these drivers for Windows 10 too, or should he go with the standard AHCI drivers then?

Yes!
