Safe to update video card firmware with newer revision firmware from newer card??

Hi,

Got an MSI 1060 GTX Gaming X video card and was wondering if it would be safe to flash the firmware from a newer 1060 GTX Gaming X+ card onto it? Only difference is that the memory speed is a little faster.
