I just noticed a new Firmware update available in Samsung Magician software EXM03B6Q. However, I see no new firmware on SAMSUNG website for the Samsung 850 Pro (I have the 256GB ver.) .
Does anyone have info about this firmware? fixes, changelog?

The Technical Support Center of Samsung Germany and Samsung Memory Live Chat reported:
The new firmware EXM03B6Q is not available for Samsung 850 PRO 128 GB SSD.
Changelog:
- Support for the new Samsung 850 PRO 4 TB.
- Improvements of the compatibility with some devices.
- Other minor changes.
The firmware update is not required if the SSD works flawlessly.
My both Samsung 850 PRO 1TB SSD passed the firmware update via Samsung Magician Software version 4.9.7 without any problems.
I couldn’t notice any changes regarding speed and others parameters in my hardware environment.
Hello!
Yes, that’s also right for the 850 Pro 256GB. The firmware EXM01B6Q is the latest for that SSD.
Best regards,
MiMo
Yes, indeed firmware update , still version 4.9.7 after reboot.
Indeed, no chances encountered for my SSD 850 Pro , again not possible to set the OP (Over Provisioning) on recommended ( 23,8 GB) , Im now on 9,5 GB and thats all I can get !
When I try to set on recommended ( 10% ) , I get ; " Could not set the selected size , try smaller value " And finally managed to set it on 4% , a higher value is not possible !
Someone knows more then I do , please…?
You can do it manually at the beginning of the OS installation onto the SSD (by creating a 10% smaller OS partition) or from within the Disk Management, if there is no OS on the SSD.
Pre-condition in both cases: The SSD should be previously either secure erased or quickly formatted.
So its not possible anymore, after installing the OS , to get this recommended OP.(??) Is it harmfull for your SSD, if you have only 4% instead of the 10% (recommended) ??
You think its better to format the SSD and first set OP on 10% ? Wish I knew this before I installed Win 10 on this SSD…
@Pete12 :
According to my experience there is nothing to worry about the missing recommended 10% unformatted OP space as long as there is always enough free space within the related partitions.
Furthermore the SSD manufacturers usually add themselves some OP space to their SSD, which you can neither see nor use.
Very glad with your answer , so its not neccesary to format and install again for getting this recommended (?) 10% OP . Im using about 25GB of the 250GB , so it should be no problem.
Very good, coz Im very happy with this OS and with this SSD , its a great improvement compared with HDD !
