Skylake/Kabylake on Z370?

There is a hugely detailed guide here about modding Z170/Z270 in order to support Coffee Lake CPUs, but has anyone attempted the opposite? Z370 is based on the Kaby Lake PCH at 22nm, and supposedly it supports the older CPUs already - there’s just a block (possibly a complex one) somewhere preventing reverse compatibility.

I’d imagine the socket itself is also reverse compatible, just has extra pins enabled for power delivery…

Hey - any research into this?

@Omicron Downgrade to ME 11.6 to be able to boot Sky/Kaby CPUs. Read plutomaniac’s guide on integrating the ME Firmware yourself manually in the BIOS image here: [Guide] Clean Dumped Intel Engine (CS)ME/(CS)TXE Regions with Data Initialization

Oh wow, I didn’t even come across this. Thanks!
