[Solution] Win7 drivers for USB 3.0/3.1 Controllers of new Intel chipset systems

@pvmt7
Integration needed only if you have ISO without such drivers in it (MSDN original, for example). Image from #206 aready has integrated drivers as I see.
And you should use only one set (any you want) because of different versions if decide to make your own image. After Windows installation only one of them will work (with higher number I think) if you will integrate both sets.

I found the author and the source of v17 mod. The "full" package has an automated script for installation (into offline and online Windows) and integration (ISO|WIM) - looks very useful and simple.

Thanks NewcomerAI.
I had a feeling the fully integrated version would be all that was needed.
Thereā€™s a great youtube video from a year ago
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npTbXWRJ1vs detailing the whole journey ( obtaining the drivers, downloading, integration etc.)
when @canonkong first shared his amazing work, but obviously others have joined the cause
since then and have moved the process forward.
Iā€™ve purchased a key so hopefully when I install offline I can avoid the black screen issue @PatrickK
mentioned and Iā€™ve read about.

I have installed mentioned drivers and I have got USB 3.0 in my Windows 7 installed on my Z390 motherboard.
Huge thanx for the creator of this thread and drivers and for all users here for the friendly help and a lot of information !!!
Chapeau bas

After instaling drivers in the Device Manager I have yet two yellow marks show unrecognized devices (motherboard MSI Z390):

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AED&SUBSYS_37501462&REV_A1
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AED&SUBSYS_37501462
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AED&CC_0C8000
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AED&CC_0C80

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AEC&SUBSYS_37501462&REV_A1
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AEC&SUBSYS_37501462
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AEC&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1AEC&CC_0C03

Anybody has an idea what is it and which drivers sholud be used?
Great thanx in advance

That seems to be the NVIDIA USB. I remember they released a modified driver for that too, but I donā€™t know where to find it. Wait for reply from other users.

Great thanx bloodhand for the answer

I have checked here https://pcilookup.com/ and above two items are:
1) NVIDIA TU116 USB Type-C UCSI Controller
2) NVIDIA TU116 USB 3.1 Host Controller

It is a bit surprise as I didnā€™t know Nvidia has something with USB Type-C and USB 3.1 Host Controller.
Is there any drivers for Windows 7 for above devices?
If not, can I switch off these devices somehow? Or what should I do?

Thanx for any help

@Jadde ,
The topic "[Solution] Win7/8.1 Drivers for USB 3.0/3.1 Controllers of new AMD Chipset Systems" has mod which works with Nvidia.

Thanx NewcomerAl for the reply
Do you mean drivers from the first post?

Hi I would like to know that im trying to install windows 7 on a hm 370 dell g7 laptop. please help me thanks

Hi Where can I download this dwiver?

Thx NewcomerAI.
One more question;
When dealing with ISOā€™s I always extract the contents using Power ISO or Magic ISO and and then with access to all the files necessary
I proceed to install. It looks like this extraction has been done to the ISO provided in post #206. So, will I still need to use a program like Rufus
to create a bootable USB for the files/folders or can I simply put everything onto a USB and do the install ?
Iā€™m thinking Rufus is when using an standard / un extracted ISO but just want to make sure.

Hey,
Do you guys why my USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) doesnā€™t even recongnize itā€™s the only one that doesnā€™t recongnize all the other usbā€™s recongnize

I intergrated the drivers on ntlite, and i had mouse only on boot but not on real windows screen. :stuck_out_tongue: My intel 3.1 usb is found everything besides my USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)

Hardware Id for root hub :

USB\ROOT_HUB30&VID8086&PIDA36D&REV0010
USB\ROOT_HUB30&VID8086&PIDA36D
USB\ROOT_HUB30

New computer built and BIOS screen shows everything appears to be connected and functioning properly.
Time to install W7.
So I used RUFUS to make a bootable USB
with the W7 ISO with the integrated drivers
on it ( Post #206 )
Plug in the USB,start the computer. My understanding was that upon start up the install should start.
But itā€™s just the advanced BIOS screen that
comes up.
The USB is recognized by the computer, the keyboard works in all USB ports,
but Windows will not install.
Tried turning off Secure Boot but no luck.

Just canā€™t figure out what it is Iā€™m doing or not doing to prevent the install.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Since you havenā€™t given much detail on what "will not install" means, I will make a couple of assumptions. Could be you have not formatted the drive and USB installer in a mutually compatible format. If your drive is GPU change it to MBR. If it is MBR change it to GPT. Also, check if your BIOS has CSM enabled. If not enable it. See if the Windows installation completes. Thatā€™s probably the problem. If you do not format it using the appropriate select using Rufus that will happen.

Thanks very much for the reply.
Will try what has been suggested.

As far as the install, I mean that
the USB is plugged in
but nothing past that occurs.
The only screens I see are the BIOS settings ( advanced mode ),USB is recognized in the BIOS,
but no indication that install of Windows is occurring.
Iā€™m trying to install into a Samsung 970 EVO PlusNVMe M.2 SSD,
ASUS Z390-A mobo.

What GPU are you using? If the screen is black after booting from USB it may be using GOP versus VGA output. Windows 7 does not support GOP. Look in the BIOS CSM menu and see if there is an option to change video from UEFI to Legacy. That could be the issue with nothing displayed on screen.

Side note: When I referred to the drive being GPT or MBR I meant the OS drive not USB. GPT would be UEFI storage and MBR would be Legacy storage in the CSM options menu. Windows 7 can use either one, but the USB installer has to be formatted to match. It is easier and faster to use Diskpart during Windows setup to change the OS drive format between GPT and MBR than it is to create a new USB thumb drive.

Hey guys I got a Dell G7 7590 laptop running windows 10. But im trying to install windows 7 tho I did test @cannonballā€™s usb driver via ntlite but when i got to the starting windows message after windows 7 setup i got BSOD instead. Am im doing something wrong or is this laptop no supported. BTW the motherboard is a intel HM370, intel core i7 9750H, 16 GB Ram, nvidia gtx 1660ti. Anyone can help me I will be so happy thanks.

Thank you Mr.Fox !

Progress but not there yet ā€¦
Made sure Legacy was selected with RUFUS,
Legacy only in the CSM options.
Secure Boot off.
Mouse working.
Can get as far as
Custom Install, then
"Where Do You Want To Install windows ?"
but nothing is showing and yellow error message saying
"No drives found.Click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation"
Hit Refresh.
Yellow Error " No drives were found"
Hit Load Driver.
Hit Browse.
Select USB
"No signed device drivers were found.make sure the installation media
contains the correct drivers, and the click OK"
Soā€¦despite the 970 EVO SSD being recognized as installed in the BIOS, it
wonā€™t show as a location to install Windows to.
And the drivers,it would seem, are not being seen as well.

@PatrickK @aladinsinbad @NewcomerAI
What do you think ?
Canā€™t see anywhere in the forum of getting this far
with the install but not seeing any locations to install
Windows to.

Ahhā€¦so close !

To anyone who could possibly help me with this issue.
Not a programmer or technician so doing the best I can to understand the terminology
and how to apply it to troubleshooting this issue.
Apologize if the answers are obvious somewhere in the 22 page
discussion here, but just canā€™t figure it out.

Could the problem be that I updated the latest BIOS version (ver.1502) before I attempted
the install ?

Check to be sure the BIOS is set to use RAID and not AHCI. If it is set to RAID and your Windows 7 installation media does not have RAID drivers integrated you have to use the Intel F6 drivers and select them from USB media by pressing F6 and browsing to them. That, or change the BIOS to AHCI for the drives to be visible.

Also run Diskpart and clean the OS drive, then convert MBR if you have not already done that.

Hope that is helpful in getting the drive to appear for installation.
