[Solution] Win7 drivers for USB 3.0/3.1 Controllers of new Intel chipset systems

@PatrickK That’s why I use your ISO’s; because if I were making my own, I would pay extreme attention to the details, the way that you have.
The extra tweaks and tricks goes beyond what I would do; so I greatly appreciate your efforts.

And I’m curious about the difference between:
deWin7x64_Ulti_SP2.10 - ISO
enWin7x64_Pro_SP2.10 - ISO

Because the last modification for deWin7x64_Ulti_SP2.10 ISO was on 3/28/2020
I was reading the information about your tweaks from this forum:
https://www.win-unattended.de/viewtopic…68ee0288961809f
The post date shows May, 3rd 2020; so my guess is, all of that information applies to everything labeled SP2.10.

But when I look at your German & English versions of Pro + Multi-Language Ultimate:
deWin7x64_Ulti_SP2.10.iso - 3.5 GB
deWin7x64_Pro_SP2.10.iso - 3.5 GB
enWin7x64_Pro_SP2.10.iso - 3.7 GB

My questions:
1_) - I see a .2 difference for the English 6/23/2020 release and I’m wondering what was added or changed?

2_) - Also, does that Windows 7 Ultimate ISO have “Peek Desktop” disabled too?
Because looking at my old Win 7 Ultimate install, you can right click and disable Peek Desktop at anytime; so it achieves the same purpose.
It sounds like a ridiculous feature, but it has been useful for me many times.

3_) - In my install of your English Win 7 Pro, peek desktop looks permanently disabled (grayed out), is there a simple way to enable this function?
I would like for the ability to enable & disable it.

Can someone pleas send me drivers for NVIDIA USB type-c GTX16XX /RTX20XX… its mentioned in post #8, but i read whole thread, and there is not download link, only lots links for Intel USB 3 stuff. So it was removed, or dont got it…

@Freeza Yes, every SP2.10 ISO has the same changes.
1. I wonder too, I don’t know. It is possible that I didn’t notice one or more differences in those batch files that create the english one.
2. Yes, I disabled this feature by default because it annoyed me again and again, but I had a guess which seems to be right: You have to install a ‘correct’ graphics driver which enables Windows 7 to have the Aero theme turned on, otherwise Peek Desktop doesn’t work anyways. (My goal is to just disable it by default and not to disable it permanently, like it try to do on other settings.
3. Already answered.

W7 NVIDIA Mod for USB Type-CUniversal Serial Bus Controller

Hello, where could I find modded USB-drivers for PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&CC_0C0330? Thanks so much!

Hello all, I have a Gigabyte z390 Aorus Master, I have tried slipstreaming all the USB drivers that have been posted in this thread, but none of them work for the USB Hub, only the Chipset driver gets recognized. I went out and bought a PCI USB Reneses card and drivers I found on this site worked for it’s chipset and it’s hub, however I can not install Windows 7 x64 from it. When I run the installed with the drivers slipstreamed, and have USB Mouse/Keyboard attached to it, I get no input from the Moust/Keyboard at all.

This is my attempt to slipstream drivers with NTLite, as you can see the hub driver exists, but is not recognized. Can someone please help me get it working.
Kind Regards
-Ariyasu.

@ariyasu :
AFAIK integrated third party storage drivers have to be WHQL certified. Modded drivers are not accepted by the OS Setup.

So is there anyway to install Windows 7 on this system? I don’t have a PS/2 port on the board :frowning:

@Fernando If done with a batch file, like I do, you can use the /forceunsigned option, that’s how I create ISOs anyway, like in my SP2.10 series with support for Z390 and similar.

ariyasu
There is a universal usb 3 driver for all devices, and there is a separate mod driver for Intel. You do not need to add both mod for intel and universal driver at the same time.

Are these drivers available now?

Thank you for the response and link, NTLite recognises these drivers and lets me slipstream them into the .wim and rebuild the iso

Then when I boot from this install it gets as far as the language screen.

At this point, I again get no input from my mouse or keyboard, connected to any of the USB ports on the system
I tried every USB port, 2.0 and 3.0 :frowning:

Is there something I’m missing or doing incorrectly?

EDIT: I managed to tap F8 as the installer was booting and get to the boot menu where I chose disable driver signature enforcement but this also had no effect

I want to thank PatrickK for providing the images. I used deWin7x64_Ulti_SP2.10.iso, and during the installation, usb mouse and keyboard worked.

Although it is german version, it was quite easy to change the language to english, after installation.

New build consists:

MSI Z390-A Pro,
Gainward GTX 1650 Ghost OC 4G 4GB GDDR6
Coffee Lake Core i5-9400F, LGA1151, 2.90 GHz, Boxed
Corsair 8GB (1 x 8GB) Value Select, DDR4 2400MHz, CL16, 1.20V.
1TB Samsung 870 QVO, 2.5" SSD, SATA III, MLC

Installed driver for the display is 430.39-desktop-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql.

Driver for the network is from the motherboards driver cd. Not sure which it was, but when looking at the device manager, that driver’s date is 27.9.2017. Driver version is 12.17.8.7.

Everything appears to work without any glitches.

Just for the information, in the device manager, there are still six devices with exclamation mark, which I assume, will not cause problems:

Base System Device
PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
PCI Device
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Unknown Device

After all, I’m really grateful for the effort. Without it installing win7 would have been almost impossible for the new hardware, at least for me.

@garter Nice to read this and thanks for your feedback.
I have an english ISO already avaiable for the Professional edition.
If you don’t want to have the not installed devices in your device manager, you can install the chipset driver provided for Windumb 10 on your motherboard’s support site.

Greetings Patrick

Patrick, yeah I forgot to install the chipset driver, but once done, from the motherboard’s cd, all the rest looked ok, only PCI Simple Communications Controller and Unknown Device still have exclamation mark.

I also installed latest Nvidia driver 461.40-desktop-win7-64bit-international-whql, which solved minor issues with Rhinoceros 5.

I tested the hardware with Passmark Performance Test 10 x64 trial version, and compared results to their databases. Every component gives results, that are really close to their corresponding database results. Spot on, like they say.

Thanks again.

Hi Guys, hoping for some help with a problematic USB device in Windows 10 x64

Im using an MSI Gaming 9 ACK X99A motherboard. The spec from the manual offers this info.
USB ■■Intel® X99 Express Chipset
– 6x USB 3.0 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available
through the internal USB 3.0 connectors*)
– 6x USB 2.0 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available
through the internal USB 2.0 connectors)
■■ASMedia ASM1142
– 2x USB 3.1 ports on the back panel
■■VIA VL805
– 4x USB 3.0 ports on the back panel
* Internal JUSB3 connector supports MSI Super Charger.

ISSUE:
recently i cloned my Windows 10 Pro v20H2 x64 256GB to a 1TB replacement. Everything went well, or so i thought…
I’m not sure weather doing the clone or weather just a coincidence… but 4 of the on-board USB ports stopped working… (Im not sure if these are the VIA VL805 - 4x USB 3.0 ports on the back panel ? As I see no reference to VIA in my drivers list ? So I assume they are maybe Intel?).

Anyway, I noticed that in Device manager, it stated “Unknown USB Device (Device failed Enumeration)” and also had a yellow exclamation mark on it.
I had tried everything to fix it but nothing has worked. I found this forum and attempted to use this driver;
"pure 64bit Intel USB 3.0+3.1 Drivers v5.0.4.43 re-mod+signed by Fernando"
They installed ok , but now the only change is that the exclamation mark has gone and no drivers have been installed. The 4 USB Ports still don’t work (they do provide power only).

What did i do wrong ?

view screenshots here (LINK)

Note: My mobo is supposed to have VIA VL805 USB controller but it does not appear anywhere ?

In HWINFOx64, it shows the PROBLEM device as;
“INTEL Wellsburg PCH - USB 3.0 xHCI Host Controller [B1]”
“USB Root Hub”
“Port7 : Device Failed Enumeration”
"PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_8D31&SUBSYS_78821462&REV_05"

Any suggestions as to my next step to remedy ?

oh, and ive have just noticed that Intel ME driver isnt anywhere to be found either… ugh

thanks

Greetings,

I came across this topic while google searching driver issue.

Recently I bought an Asrock B460m motherboard with matching LGA1200 Intel i3. I’m having a hard time installing Windows 2008 server on it.

In the past I could get away installing Windows 7 drivers or editing INF file to match existing hardware ID. This time I’m hitting a dead end with this rig.

I’m needing network adapter and USB drivers. If you would please be so kind to point me in right direction, I would appreciate it.

USB Root Hub device IDs:
VEN_8086&DEV_A3AF&SUBSYS_A3AF1849&REV_00
VEN_8086&DEV_A3AF&SUBSYS_A3AF1849
VEN_8086&DEV_A3AF&CC_0C0330
VEN_8086&DEV_A3AF&CC_0C03

Intel I219-V network adapter device IDs:
VEN_8086&DEV_0D55&SUBSYS_0D551849&REV_00
VEN_8086&DEV_0D55&SUBSYS_0D551849
VEN_8086&DEV_0D55&CC_020000
VEN_8086&DEV_0D55&CC_0200

Currently I work on my next ISO release, and I can recommend you this, as far as I can see it, this works good (I’ve done some testing on ASMedia- and Intel chips to compare them with original manufacturer drivers).

If you want, you can try it with one of my alpha ISOs.

Hello chaps, i find the forum and topic while searching for same problem as described here for usb3 drivers on newer systems. I have excelent working win7 system on my laptop, with programs, subscriptions, passwords and other shit, you know what i mean. Now i have bought a intel nuc with 8gen intel i3 cpu, 8019u or something like that, i cloned my windows system on ssd and then mounted cloned ssd in the nuc. Windows booting normaly, after boot none of the usb ports is working, so i cant do anything because mouse and keyboard are not working. I had the same problem on my skylake laptop but fortunately in that case touchpad was working thank god and i could install everything, but the nuc doesnt have touchpad  Interestingly, usb3 driver from 6 gen skylake doesnt work on 8 gen procesors. What can i do so that cloned system will enable/install the usb ports? Any help appreciated, i am sorry if my english is not the best
Cheers !

@valvoline

for windows 7 use the backported windows 8 driver.
