@lwk523 - Dell BIOS on a Non-Dell PC? How’s that, what do you mean, you have Dell BIOS on HP system, or what?
Hi Lost_N_BIOS,
This is the popup message when I tried to extract the bios file with Extractor.
[@Lost_N_BIOS ]
Can you please extract for me ? Do you know how to flash with mod bios ?
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER0504991…0A13%20BIOS.exe
Thank you.
Please show image of CPU-z motherboard tab. Here is BIOS you linked to be extracted - https://www.sendspace.com/file/iatg55
Looks like it uses AFU (behind the BUU app), so you can flash mod BIOS with AFU or the BUU app included
Hi,
Thanks for your helping. I just want to add Nvme driver into this bios. Can you share with me the guide how to use AFU or BUU ?
Can you please check the line that I add the driver as the image attached below ?
I wish can you explain what is the different for CAP or Bin file. Which file to use for flashing the bios ?
Thank again.
I don’t know a guide for BUU, but AFU Guide is here
[Guide] Flashing modified AMI Aptio UEFI using AFU
I would assume PS-A13.BIN is the BIOS file, and that is what I would update and flash/program.
And yes, in the PS-A13.BIN in same location, I would add the NVME driver almost where you show in image, put underneath (insert after) GUID 30ACC954-36FF-4C09-B2F5-DFDDAB7002A5
Thanks bro,
Now I have the clear picture how to flash it .
If AFU doesn’t work, Intel FPT probably will.
Any idea to get Intel FPT guide ?
Thanks
Use Intel Flash Programming Tool from this package - https://mega.nz/#!CF1l1LJK!K2l6_74FPsGig…Rvp8Efj8a5drZSc
Run from admin control prompt (ie select the win or win32 folder inside flash programming tools, hold shift and then right click, select open command prompt here), then run the following command.
fptw -rewrite -bios -f PS-A13.BIN << change that PS-A13.BIN to whatever you have your mod BIOS named, but be sure you started with that PS-A13.BIN BIOS
I suggest you flash that version stock BIOS first, from the original Dell exe file, that way you are updated to this version and the Intel ME gets updated too.
Hi,
I noticed that the bin I extracted is different with your attachments. Something is not right. Can I have your extractor to allow me compare the file size with my version again ?
Thank bro
I sent you the full package I extracted in post #23. I used UniExtract “Universal Extractor” it’s a free download tool here - https://www.legroom.net/software/uniextract
There is several files in there that maybe you thought was the right ones (There is a ME.bin 1416 and a capsule file too PS-113.cap, neither are the BIOS, BIOS is PS-A113.bin)

thanks
@haryadii3112 - here is .rom and .hdr - good luck on recovering!
https://www.sendspace.com/file/t43ttr
thanks… but still not work for my laptop. No display at all. how to boot from pen drive? or maybe I need another file to reboot from pen drive?
Sorry, I don’t know about Dell recovery, you’ll have to google around for your exact model and find some guides.
@Lost_N_BIOS , would you be able to provide the rom, hex, and bin file for the following?
https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/…ctCode=xps-8700
I keep getting a “The command line parameter is not correct” error message. Greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
@legacyuser - here you go, only .bin file in there along with flashing tools
https://www.sendspace.com/file/ojuuet
@Lost_N_BIOS - Thanks for the files! Do you know if it is possible to insert a modified .bin file into the original executable file or it is even possible? Of course, by me asking, i probably shouldn’t be attempting it!!! Thanks again!
@legacyuser - possibly, but I don’t know how to do that for this particular Dell BIOS, sorry. Doing that would not get around any security checks performed anyway, if the mod BIOS fails security check and wont flash.
You’ll have to try -force or -forceit and see if that will help, or find working version for this BIOS of AFUwin/AFUWinGUI (3.03 is stock version) and use /p flag only (If all your edits fall within the BIOS region only, usually that will not be locked down)
You may also be able to use FPT (Flash programming tool), download Intel ME System tools package V9.1 from section C here
Intel Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware & System Tools
Test the following, without changing anything in the BIOS files if output is received (This is to test dumping BIOS region only, then flashing back that exact same BIOS region only without modifying anything)
FPTw -bios -d dump.bin << This dumps BIOS region only
FPTw -bios -f dump.bin << This flashes BIOS region only, using above dumped file… If OK without error stopping you, then you can do as mentioned below, if error stop and show me image of the error
IF that works, then you can use your modified BIOS file instead of the above dump.bin
Hi guyz can i flash HDR file with USB Programmer CH341A ? or can I just rename HDR to BIN ? and flash ?
