[Solved] Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ADA05 DMI corrupt

Hello,

I have a Lenovo that I saved after a corrupted BIOS (thanks so much to you for the guidance, by the way), but I still have one small detail to be perfect: The Serial, Model, etc. information is no longer recoverable from the original BIOS, and I can’t find a solution to implement it in the clean file.

Do you have a method, given that DMI Tool is not compatible, please?

Thank you very much in advance.

I’m attaching the original Read file and the OK file I created.

Thanks again.

Hex Editor
Data block 1000 to 2FFF

EDIT:

Yes…get access to Lenovo factory tools…that’s the “special” one.
Most data are encrypted on modern Lenovo bioses…

Hi @MeatWar ,

Thank you but i think it have a special method to add data in this block , no ?

Question : DMI seems to be encrypted like you said so what happen if i copy and paste the area with encrypted data ? Is it working?

At least it did for some models… What else do you want us to assure you humm?
Else you need to wait for a user with same model and had previously done the transfer, to comfirm it.

Okay, so you’re systematically going to answer me with a hint of aggression and suspicion, in fact?

I’m just asking if copying encrypted data using a hex editor works, that’s all. Maybe it needs to be decrypted first.

But that’s fine, I’ll try it like that, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll put everything back without the information, and it’ll be fine.

Thanks for the help.

See you later.

What’s not clear to you?
If the data is encrypted by default (As Lenovo method) and its from the original source (Dump) AS IT IS, so the data block should also copied AS IT IS…rigth???
Do you think i have all these details in mind or have all hw models with me, when helping users here? Give me a break will you, go pay to a Tech IT Pro that he also needs to put food on his table.
You been around here on this forum from 2021… dont you know already how this forum works???
We help/tip users…we are not responsible for any information that leads to “DEATH” systems neither we can assure nothing to no user or a permanent “FIX shop” that will avoid ALL users from getting assistance from professionals with their “LIVE HANDS” on the “patient”.
Over_n_OUT of here.

As I said above: it’s systematically aggression or suspicion.

Fix shop? Since when? Have we actually known each other?

Did you see that I put the topic in Solved? Is it necessary to demonstrate your superiority again? Whether I’ve been here since 2021 or 1990 doesn’t change the fact that we don’t all have your superior knowledge, and the questions may seem silly to you without actually being so.

Copying encrypted data into a decrypted system doesn’t make sense to beginners because, yes, I recover broken PCs and try to repair them “in my room.” That doesn’t make me an experienced IT expert, and manipulating BIOSes isn’t what I do all the time.

I don’t understand why you’re getting so worked up over so little. You haven’t supported me from the start. No worries, don’t take your time to help me; I won’t hold it against you.

Now, ignore me if that’s more convenient for you. No problem for me.

Thanks anyway. Bye.

All the best…sir.
