Greetings everyone! I’m new to this forum.
Let’s go to the topic. I have wonderful pocketable PC Sony Vaio P from 2009 (VGN-P, 1st generation; exact model is VGN-P39VRL). I successfully installed Windows XP SP3 on it, without messing with F6 drivers (I used USB DVD drive). All drivers are working, including GPS and 3G. What’s the case then? Without any common sense, only because of curiousity and just me being a bit freaky about old OS, I want to install Windows 2000 SP4 on it (please don’t dissuade me from doing this!)
Chapter 1: naive stupid attempts
I tried booting from Windows 2000 CD: it loads drivers in the textmode, and when it goes to disks detection, it shows black screen with blinking white underscore.
I took a guess it’s because of AHCI driver; tried using some AHCI drivers, but the thing is I don’t know the controller exactly. After some infinite attempts to load blackwingcat’s drivers on f6 floppy, and still getting black screen (I tried most of controllers present in iata76_cd2kh.cab), I decided to google more about Sony Vaio P AHCI controller when I suddenly realized my disk is connected to IDE (looked up in device manager). I was so dumb to forget to google my hardware ID…anyway, it’s PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_811A&CC_0101, named Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE controller.
Chapter 2: Realization and «crying desperately»
So here am I, literally don’t know what to do. What I already have done:
-
Added hardware ID to UniATA 0.47b, loaded it through f6 floppy and also tried integrating it using nLite; made both bootable CD and bootable USB (WinSetupFromUSB)
-
Used NTDETECT.COM from Windows XP;
-
Used Fernando’s modded AHCI drivers, got «iaStor.sys is corrupted» error all the time
@Fernando -
Used blackwingcat’s SATA AHCI drivers, not all controllers, but most of them (maybe if I knew ICH built-in controller of SCH, it would be easier). I tried floppy with these drivers and integrating them via nLite. Didn’t follow guide below

Followed this guide: [GUIDE] How to install Windows 2000 on Intel Sandy Bridge and later with ACPI - Windows 2000/2003/NT4 - MSFN , still got black screen (tried not pressing F5, then ACPI multiprocessor and ACPI single processor) or 7B error if I choose Standard or press F7. My BIOS is InsydeH2O (rev 3.5) though, BUT IT’S MODDED, so I have Advanced settings. However I have no idea what to set here and what should I enable or disable. I tried using iata76_cd2kh and iata76cd2ka.
Chipset combined controller is Intel US15W SCH btw (system controller hub), got info that IDE controller is named SCH Poulsbo IDE Controller, but I have no idea about AHCI.
Any help is much appreciated!!! Have a good day everyone, I really want to get suggestions as soon as possible!
