[Successfully] Unlocked Acer Nitro N50-640 BIOS R01-A4

Hi,

I have an Acer Nitro N50-640 desktop with BIOS version R01-A4.

I would like to unlock the hidden Memory Frequency and tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS timing settings so I can set my RAM to 2666MHz instead of the default 2133MHz.

I have already used AMIBCP 5.02 to set those settings to USER access, but when I try to flash the modified CAP file I get:
“18 - Error: Secure Flash Rom Verify fail”

I need someone to patch out the Secure Flash verification so the modified BIOS can be flashed.

I am attaching the original R01-A4.CAP file.

Disable Secure Boot.

Unzip the archive to a FAT32 formatted flash drive and boot from it. If you not able to choose FAT32 in formatting options, create an FS volume smaller than 16 gigs.

Setup utility should open and more tabs should become available.

The same approach worked for Predator Orion 7000

Hi Sweet_Kitten, thank you for the file!

I booted from the USB successfully and the patcher ran but got this error at the end:

“Failed to locate protocol: Not Found”
“Image Returned: Not Found”
“Program has ended”

No new tabs appeared in BIOS after rebooting.

Here is what the screen showed:

The patcher ran but the Setup patch didn’t apply.
Here is what happened:

EsaFull and AMITSE patches: Patched successfully
Op Patch 3 (Pattern 1206F1110100): NOT patched - pattern not found at 93%
AMIEsaTseInterfaces.efi: Failed to locate protocol

No new BIOS tabs appeared after reboot.

Could you update the config with the correct pattern for my BIOS?

No you have to update to A4 which is easy.

Ok, i did update to R01-A4 but the patcher gives me at the end:

Not patched,
Executing LoadFromFS,
Loaded Image with success on handle 0,
search result: success.

Then kicks me into bios with no changes cause it didn’t patch

According to the devices support pages, Acer N50-620 has different bios.
I’ll upload archives soon. Both the updated unlock script, which worked for Baysfnbr’ Nitro 640, and for Nitro 620.

Why N50-640 config didn't work for N50-620

Hi, I have an Acer Nitro N50-640 running BIOS R01-B0 with Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz RAM, but it’s stuck at 2133MHz because XMP is locked.

I saw your successful R01-A4 BIOS unlock and was wondering if you could adapt it for R01-B0 so I can access the hidden XMP and memory frequency settings.

I’ve already downloaded the official R01-B0 BIOS firmware from Acer and can provide it if needed.

Would your existing unlocker work on my BIOS, or would it need modifying? My goal is to reach 3200MHz without risking bricking my motherboard. Thanks!
