Surface Pro Type Cover issues

Hello,

I have a Problem with my Surface Pro 3 and Type Cover.
After a Windows Update, not Firmware Update, the Type Cover was no longer recognized.
I tried all the familiar tips on Surface, but it did not help. Since currently the display is not glued, I opened the Surface and disconnected the battery.
After reconnected the battery and start the Surface, the Type Cover was recognized again.
However, only until a restart of the device.
Then the cover is only recognized again, until I disconnect the battery 1 minute and connect again.
I suspect that it is a software problem, because the cover works in principle.
Many other people also have the problem with their Surface Pro 4, 5 and 2017.
Could anyone fix this problem?
Maybe with a Full BIOS update?

Sorry for my bad English.
I hope you can still understand my problem.

@Teckie_Boy :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
Since your problem seems to be Windows and not BIOS related, I doubt, that you will get the desired help within this Forum.
My advice: Contact the Microsoft Support.

Dieter (alias Fernando)

Hello Fernando,

thank you for the answer and the nice welcome.
What I can say is that it’s definitely not a Windows problem.
A clean reinstallation of Windows does not fix the problem.
The cover does not work when you turn on the device and go to UEFI.
That usually does.
Only a Power Reset of the device makes that the cover work again.
Until a reboot.
Maybe I should have written this information too.
Sorry.

This is not a proof, that your problem has nothing to do with the OS.

What means "go to UEFI"? Does your problem only occur, when you have entered the BIOS of your Surface device?
Anyway: Since the device, the OS and the BIOS were manufactured by Microsoft, the MS Support should be able to help you the best.
