Test SSD Intel P5801X and Asus X299 motherboard

Hello

I wanted to test a P5801X SSD, used with a PCIe E1.s adapter card PCIE gen 4/5 (normally it is backward compatible) on the motherboard’s PCIe x16 slot *2 (Asus Rampage XI Extreme Encore)

To begin, the SSD wasn’t recognized. In the BIOS, I had to find the appropriate option : Advanced/CPU Storage set to Hyper M.2 x16 (data) for PCIe *2
The other options don’t work, it’s for VROC

And then the problem arises, the SSD is recognized as x1, and my OS SSD is the same

Only the Samsung SSD on the DIMM.2_2 is at x4…

In the Advanced/Onboard Device options, it’s set to Mode 2 for x16 x16 x8 (so it’s supposed to be fine)
And with a 10980XE and these 48 PCIe lanes, I should be good ?

PCIe *1: Graphics card (x16)
PCIe *2: P5801X (x4 or x16 since the option is set to Hyper M.2 x16 (data))
PCIe *3: SSD (x4)
DIMM.2_2: SSD (x4)

I tested instead of the OS SSD, no longer need the Hyper M.2 x16 (data) option but the SSD is still in x1 (the OS SSD is x4)

In Crystal Disk Info, it says PCIe 3.0 x1 | PCIe 4.0 x4
So the SSD/adapter is good?

Is the X299 too old for the E1.s? Yet it works on the X99

If anyone has any ideas

Thanks

EDIT : And strange thing, if I set with Mode 3 (x16 x8 x8) the SSD on the PCIe port *3 disappears

It’s good, it was adapter
