NVME disk Transcend TS256GMTE220S (Vendor 126F, Device 2262). MSI H97G_M43, bios equipped for M.2 NVME disk, Win10 1709.
When the NVME disk is connected it is nowhere shown in the Bios but it works. The controller is shown as Standard NVME controller, the disk is recognized and the device manager sees no error. I can boot, the system runs stable, but the disk had some remarks in the decive events: “…not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match…”. And there are two drawbacks:
1) Windows 2016 essentials Server, automatic client backup. I can configure the new disk in backup but backup crashes when the NVME disk is configured to be backed up and it does not crash if I exclude the NVME disk from backup.
2) Tried to update Windows 10 from 1709 to 1809 via MediaCreationTool. The installation stops as it “can’t determine if my PC can run Windows 10”.
“Solution”:
Updated Windows 1709 => 1809 on old drive and swapped drive to NVME disk thereafter. Works now.
