Hello ,
with the help of this site i was able to install Windows 7 onto a new AMD Computer running a fast nvme SSD.
The Motherboard has a second M.2 ssd slot that can run sata or pcie3.0x2 .
My question: is it possible to backup my Windows 7 and restore it unto a hypotethical Nvme Raid (to be created).?
I tried to install the RaidConfig Driver for Windows 7 for the X470 Mobo, but it would not let me do it.
Would you consider running an RAID-0 NVME raid when nvme slot 1 is pcie3.0x4 and slot 2 is pcie3.0x2?
It is my understanding that AMD supports NVME Raid only for Threadripper and Windows 10, but in theory it should be possible also on Windows 7 with this basic Motherboard X470.
Thank you for your suggestions and help.

Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
You can do a backup, but will not be able to boot into the RAID array by restoring it to the new bootable system drive. The boot sector of a RAID array needs another configuration and another driver.
According to my own experiences with an Intel NVMe RAID0 system I cannot really recommend it for "normal" users, unless they are very often processing extremely big sized files. An NVMe RAID array doesn’t run as stable as a single NVMe SSD.
Furthermore you will not realize any performance gain by having created an NVMe RAID array (unless by doing video encoding or something similar).

Would it be possible to inject the NVME-Raid driver prior to the backup (and then have a sort of hybrid Sata-NVME RAid-capable Windows 7?)
Thank you, i will most probably use the second M.2 Slot for a Linux Distribution then.
With Threadripper System or Upcoming X570 probably it could be easier to manage, but as it seems for now it is only supported on Windows 10.
