Hello,
I’m trying to open and modify the bios of a Tyan Tempest S2696, this is a phoenix bios.
I want to integrate a new version op Intel Option Rom
the latest bios I can find is here.
when I try to open it with CBROM I get a black line and nothing happens. See image ->
Also tried to open the bios in the phoenix bios editor but I get error messages.
Does somebody know what i can do to modify the bios.

Unfortunately some Phoenix BIOSes cannot be opened and modified with any CBROM version.
Nevertheless I will look for a solution for you tomorrow.

I am sorry, but I cannot help you.
None of the official BIOS modding tools is able to modify the Phoenix BIOS of your system.

Tempest i5000XT. Oh gods how I loathed that board to no end. In no small part due to the design defects in the VRM. (It’s like Tyan’s freaking hallmark - faulty VRMs.)
It’s also an OLD Phoenix BIOS. VERY old and VERY buggy in terms of tools, and they’re Tyan-specific. I have never had any luck finding the Phoenix set for the 5000-series.
