In the process of updating my Intel RAID OROM I noticed pretty much everything else was out of date too.
-LAN OROM
-AsMedia OROM
-CPU Microcode
-Management Engine
The AsMedia OROM is pretty straight forward - one valid option and two that “may not work with your system”.
The Management Engine I don’t use - so I’m assuming there’d be no reason to bother with that?
The LAN OROM, originally:
LAN OROM PXE and EFI UNDI - Intel, RTK, BCM, QCA
OROM Intel Boot Agent GE - 1.3.72
EFI Intel PRO/1000 UNDI - 5.5.23
Provides two update options:
1 - Update Automatic Mode
- OROM LAN Intel BootAgent CL 0.1.10
- EFI LAN Intel Gigabit UNDI v0.0.15
2 - Update Force Mode for Intel
- OROM LAN Intel BootAgent GE v1.5.62
- EFI LAN Intel PRO/1000 UNDI v6.6.04
"Automatic Mode" sounds like the option I’d want to go with, but I notice the devices don’t really match up. I currently have GE and PRO/1000 - which matches “Force Mode”… I’m assuming I’d want to stick with Force Mode here?
And the last question - is there any reason I’d not want to update the MicroCode?
