I have opened up the tool ubu and it tells me there are updates basically and i have went through and done them

I assume I have done everything correct and now I just flash the resulting bios file?

But I do have a few questions:

how come there is now OROM Broadcom Boot Agent - 16.8.0 added into the image it safe to flash or not I'm guessing not?
I'm guessing something has gone amuck?

how come there is Broadcom listed in there as I have a realtec lan chipset?

how come the efi amd agesa did not have an option to update ?

Probably yes, but nevertheless you should prepare the latest original BIOS for the case of a failure.

The update of the Broadcom LAN ROM module will be safe, but probably not needed.

You should better ask Gigabyte, why they have added a BIOS module for a not present device.

Maybe there is no newer/better AMD Agesa BIOS module available.

thanks I just wanted to be sure as there is now an extra module in there now.

from this links below it looks like there is a microcode update version 1.5.0.4 and 1.5.0.6 from my embedded version of 1.5.0.2 that includes vishera and zambeisi ucode patches…

in the msi970a-g45 motherboard the below site lists 1.5.0.4 update.
http://hwbot.org/newsflash/2124_amd_user…agesa_microcode

I also found this listed on a dell site that said there is a version 1.5.0.6 version out I the wild that says it has vishera bug fixes and updated the patches to 6000832:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/1…?driverId=JF8YH

how do I/ can I rip this some how and embed it into my motherboard’s bios?

I recommend to wait until the UBU tool offers new CPU Microcode modules.

ok i updated the bios and it seems to be working but this is what I got when I just re checked the bios:
--------- ME Analyzer v1.3.8 ---------
Found unidentifiable Intel Engine Firmware

→ Please report this issue!

Press any key to continue . . .

edit: fixed now I re ran the tool and it all seems good and flashed from dos this time not from the q-flash in bios

can you explain in detail how did you update the code from 1.5.0.2 to 1.5.0.6 step by step? i’m interested too, and i’m sure others are as well

I would not bother the code is designed to fix a bug in a server chip that has no effect on a retail setups.
