Unable to dump MX77U51250FZ4I42 SPI flash

**Hi. I got a Dell laptop with MX77U51250FZ4I42 SPI flash.
I am using CH341A with 1.8V adapter to try and read it. I did micro soldered under uscope wires directly to the chip on the board.
Neither of software (NeoProgrammer, Asprogramer and few other) is recognizing this chip.
No datasheet available. Emailed Macronix - they said datasheet is “not available for individuals I’m afraid”.
I tried manual settings of size (67,108,864 Bytes) and different Page size (128, 256, 512) but although it does start and finish reading process all I get are zeros?
According to Macronix website Macronix - MX77U51250FZ4I42 "high throughput of Macronix Serial Flash while taking advantage of the security features such as the permanent sector protection, read protection, etc. " Is that the reason I cannot read it? Are those new chips somehow protected?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.**

Expected…

If you have solder skills… why not remove the IC from PCB.

I only see support for it on “Flashrom” v1.5x up…

Thanks so much for sharing info re Flashrom. Desoldering chip is not a problem I’ll do that and try Flashrom.

Update: I desoldered the chip and used Flashrom 1.6 on Linux. Read the IC with no isuues. Thanks that is now solved.
