Would someone please help me bring the F21 BIOS of the Z490 Vision D up to date (microcodes, modules, etc.) and if available, unlock all hidden functions? A big bonus would be a dark theme. I tried, but had to admit to myself that this is way out of my league. It’s not supposed to be done for free either and I would reciprocate in other ways. Here is the link to the BIOS F21: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/BIOS/mb_bios_z490-vision-d_f21.zip?v=f7fe74f2f64cdd83e32cd083e43471ec
Why not the BIOS release - F22b 03/14/2023
I‘ve tried this latest beta version, but there is a problem with the display. The post screen is only shown in very low resolution, even if CSM is disabled and OS is set to Windows WHQL. With the older versions this problem doesn‘t exist. The GPU is a Radeon rt 5500 xt.
Well since the motherboard has QFlash Plus on it, i will provide some mods, but this is all your risk and choice, mods are not granted success and the system can get bricked.
Do you understand this?
If you care for your system and not taking any chances, then DONT use the file provided.
For now only mcodes updated on F21, only using QFlash Plus on the motherboard.
No other method.
Z490VISIOND.F21_mcodes.rar (10.0 MB)
EDIT: Prepare a spare USB with the original bios file for any recover.
Only mods i will provide is with mcodes/modules updated, will not do anything else regarding further modifications.
Please report back for future users guidance.
@Forsiko
EDIT: Good, now the same file with updated RST, LAN, GOP, if you’re willing to try it.
@Forsiko Its up again for limited time
F21_UbUALL
I would like to thank you very much for this and I am aware of the risks involved. I would be very happy if someone could be found for the remaining concerns.
EDIT: Thank you, this has worked well.
@MeatWar Tried to download the second version, but get this:
@MeatWar Thank you very much! This works like charm. I’ve tried to send you a message, but it doesn’t work.
@Forsiko
Glad that all worked ok, just for user info, QFlash Plus was the method used?
Any issues/performance dropped with the 2nd mod, due to updated modules?
@MeatWar Everything is working fine and without performance issues. Qflash Plus was used. THX.
@MeatWar Would you please do it again with the F20 and F21 versions? With everything updated that can be updated? I would of course show my appreciation for it.
It would be “critical” to know the content/report of post#5 (Image/link deleted by user)… regarding the use of F21_UbUALL
EDIT: My mistake, its related to sharing service, cause sharing was stoped, So you only flashed the 1rst file mod? You never downloaded/flashed the 2nd file F21_UbUALL ?
EDIT: OK, so can i ask why downgrade to F20? What is the objective/issues…
Hmm…i didn’t delete anything or i’m misunderstanding you. ??
EDIT: Oh, i’m pretty sure, that i flashed the F21_UbUAll, but then later switched to the F23 version. It was two years before now, so i’m not really sure.
EDIT: The main-reason for the downgrade are the much longer boottimes, missing windows whql option and low resolution post screen and boot logo since v F22 - so i have to chose between F20 and F21 again.
So choose one…cause this is time-consuming.
How much time…is the CSME firmware engine v14 in proper working condition?
I’ll try to make later on… not right now.
Ok then i would take v. F21 please. I’m not sure with CSME firmware, so it would be great to have this updated, too. Take your time, no need to hurry.
This is a widely known cause of slow boots… no bios update/downgrade/me flash etc… will fix it, so it’s imperative to know the current status, tools like HWinfo, on bios settings ME display version, running Intel ME v14 tools (MEInfoWin64.exe or (-verbose/-FWSTS)) can give detailed info, post it.
Updating CSME version to latest one, is a side operation, that can be done manually by any user, later on, ONLY if the engine is normal and after stable bios applied.

I expressed myself incorrectly with the long boot time. I mean that the hardware initialization takes longer than with the older bios versions (before F22). It’s not the only reason I mentioned. I also don’t run windows on the computer but macOS and proxmox.
As previous tests and methods, updated mcodes file and a final test with new EFI/oPROM versions, as usual i will remind you that the RISKS of failed mods/flash are all on your side, do not blame any users or shared files/requests.
Thank you very much for this. I will report, but not today. I will try tomorrow.
