Unlock Bios for Acer Swift 7 SF714-51T-M871

Hi. i am having troubles with unlocking additional tabs in bios for for Acer Swift 7 SF714-51T-M871.
After some digging inside a bios i found out that that it has additional Advanced and Power tabs that are not visible:

                                  Form Sets
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
0x99F98 Advanced (0x14D8 from string package 0x0)
0xBC8A8 Power (0x1593 from string package 0x0)
0xCCC88 Security (0x39 from string package 0x4)
0xCE478 Information (0xFF from string package 0x4)

0xD28E8 Security (0x39 from string package 0x4)
0xD4098 Boot (0x59 from string package 0x4)

Bios: InsydeH2O V5.0
Is there any way to make them visible in bios?
@Sweet_Kitten Can you help with that? My case seems really similar to [Request] Unlocked InsydeH2O BIOS

P.S. i am attaching a gdrive link (BIOS – Google Drive) to a bios that is currently installed on my laptop. I have extracted it from Acer bios update utility.

Hello.
As far as I know acer swift series has built-in software protection. I memorised this when I tried to unlock SF313-52. But that was Comet Lake platform. Although SF714-51 is a little older and might not have the protection, I dont want to be responsible for breaking the device.

Hi @Sweet_Kitten. Thanks for quick reply. Can you elaborate on that built-in software protection? Are you talking about Bios Lock? i have unlocked a bios by modification of a bios with setup_var command from Uefi Shell, in order to be able to write a new bios via fpt (i didn’t try it yet).
Example: setup_var.efi 0x17 0x0 -n PchSetup -r

(0x17, 1, 0x670EEB73D338776D, 0x15B4B) BIOS Lock
Callback ID = 0x7a3
(0) Disabled
(1)[*] Enabled (Default)

Disabling the lock allows fpt to perform writing.
What I meant that there is a chance that a modified bios file will fail some integrity verification.

@Sweet_Kitten Got you.

  1. Is there any way to check if those integrity checks are present in my bios?
  2. In case bios will be broken, the only way to recover is to flash original bios into bios chip with a programmer, right?

I’ve just opened the fd file in uefitool and it reports there is intel boot guard (verified boot) enabled.

Don’t know.

@Sweet_Kitten Maybe it is still possible to replace some bios tabs with Advanced and Power via setup_var or ru.efi, just like here([Request] Unlocked InsydeH2O BIOS)?

You can’t do this via variable editors.

@Sweet_Kitten Do you have any other ideas how to proceed or that is it?

I cannot help you. Thats it.
In order to get rid of BG one needs to get factory new PCH chip and an SPI programmer. It’s not worth it.

@Sweet_Kitten May i ask you to modify bios anyway? i am taking full responsibility for bricking my laptop in a case of failure. I am ready to go with buying new PCH chip and SPI programmer (always was interested is that type of stuff, it seems like a right moment)

There is no hassle to mod the file for you. I just don’t understand what you going to do with this. Proceed to flashing bios region nevertheless? Then somehow fix the laptop while cursing yourself?
If that’s what you want, I’ll send the file in private messages so no one could follow your urge.
