Update Asmedia USB3 module in UEFI?

Hi! I have the Asrock Z77 extreme4: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Ext…=Specifications
It has the ASMedia ASM1042 controller for USB3. I have tried updating the firmware with the update tool: http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php…vers/40-asmedia
but it can`t find my device! I think the firmware is in my UEFI, not in a chip. Is it possible to update it? I currently have a old version with bugs and bad performance:(

Welcome at Win-RAID Forum!

AFAIK it is not possible to flash any USB Firmware directly into a BIOS by using a usual BIOS tool. You probably have to wait for a new ASmedia USB3 Firmware version anyway.
Unfortunately ASMedia doesn’t spend much effort in developing new drivers and Firmware versions for their USB3 and SATA Controllers.

Fernando

Ok thank you. I was only thinking, if you download the asmedia firmware update tool, it contains a file called 0201_020.bin. Maybe it`s possible to update it with MMtool?

As I already have written: I don’t see any possibility to update the ASMedia USB Firmware via MMTool.
