Tried it out on my old GTX 960, updated firmware without issue.
Requires a reboot as ususal.

NVIDIA Graphics Firmware Update Tool 1.1 includes the following three versions of the GOP module:

· 0x10036 (old version)
· 0x20011
· 0x30007 (old version)
* Latest versions: 0x1003A, 0x30013.

If you have already the higher version, there is no need to download and update again.
