I just want to say you have some great information posted here. I also successfully updated the MEI ROM on my brand new motherboard with your fantastic instructions and now I want to update the Intel Rapid Storage Option ROM.
I was wondering if any of you could help me as I am a bit confused (I wish the instructions were as clear as the MEI ones!) 
I have the current specifications:
Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 with BIOS ver 2501

Current Intel Rapid Storage Option ROM installed (from factory): 13.0.0.2075
Win7 64-Bit installed
What would be the best/latest Option ROM to select to upgrade/be compatible with the current Intel RSO ROM that the Asus board has as noted above and how do I go about it in the best/easiest way possible?
Please let me know and sorry if it sounds academic - I am new to this stuff!
