I have other posts describing my problem. Basically, my PC freezes randomly. I have the knowledge that it is not a hardware problem, but I have even updated BIOS and the issue doesn’t go away.
I have been testing a lot and a long time ago I found the CSME tools, which can be found in this forum. I have found that I’m able to run “cctWin.exe gm” if I disable End of Post message in BIOS options. This command outputs “chipset init config” and it creates a binary file which contains the “mphy table”. I don’t know what this “chipset init configuration” is and neither “mphy table”; I would like to know what are they used for and how to interpret all this data which cctwin outputs. Can this data be found in BIOS or is it motherboard fixed information? If it can be changed at BIOS level, how can I edit it in a ROM binary?
What makes you believe that Medion has released a bios/ME FW image with “bad” Intel CCT parameters?
You know for sure that a "Freeze"s can have many culprits on a system, why targeting this specificaly in the first place?
Have you discussed this with MEDION support?
Have you tried to update the ME FW to latest v12.0.96.2562?
Seems very vague and seems you’re just “fishing” here…
I don’t know if Medion has released bad CCT parameters in their BIOS, I used this PC for some years (It was bought in 2020 summer) and everything was OK until 2022. Since then, I have tried a lot of methods to solve the issue (I have also updated Intel ME to the latest versión).
This may NOT be the culprit of those freezes, but I don’t know what could be failling, as I said, I have updated my BIOS more than one time and I have changed a lot of BIOS settings, touched PCI config space, played with NVRAM variables, modified hard drive EFI partitions, changed the boot loader… but the issue persists. I just play with the tools I have and see if something could be wrong. I’m learning while I try to recover my PC functionality, so no, I’m NOT “fishing”.
Medion support is really bad, I have seen people asking for this motherboard BIOS (as thay have the same issue) and they didn’t upload It easily. Same behavior for people asking about the motherboard manual (I didn’t manage to get It). I don’t think I can get anything from Medion
I haven’t found anything on the internet about mphy table nor chipset init configuration. I don’t know… Maybe this configuration isn’t correct for my chipset and maybe it is stored somewhere outside the SPI chip and It doesn’t get updated with a new BIOS flash… Just guessing
