Hi, I would like to know if its possible and how do I flash it?
These 2 motherboards are exactly the same except F model has 110A power stage and A model has 90A power stage the rest is the same.
Now why do I want to do this? The F model futures Eclk and my A model doesnt, thats it.
My question is, is there any way I could flash the F model bios onto my A model motherboard? I already tried to rename it the same as my rollback bios but the motherboard detects that the bios is not for this particular model.
This is called cross flashing biosā¦not always possible in all models, the Asus USB BFB feature usually will allow this, since it allows mod filesā¦unless modern security signatures prevent it, since this is newer chipsets/bios files.
Youāre ignoring the VRM controller and the power circuitā¦just to remind you.
ā¦i see plenty of NOR Flash ICs on this boardsā¦wonder if their content will like the cross flashing.
EDIT: Well if the USB BFB doesnāt worl, all it leaves as an option is SPI IC programming.
Usually you cant add functions to assembled bios code, there arent any sucesfull ārealā report s of such mods, just my pov.
Thanks for the reply, yes I know about VRM controller and circuitry. The Asus USB BFB doesnt work with other bios, now there is a possibility that I might just add Eclk OPTION to my bios, but i have no idea if that would be possible.
Im interested in IC spi programmer, since it seems like i bricked my Board with unsuccesful flash, How do I flash bios with SPI programmer?
Bios flashback works, but board still doesnt post. I can force it into recovery mode, bit when I put Asus.cap into any usb it seems to read it for a few seconds around 10s but zhem stops and the PC doesnt restart. If I restart it its just doing the same ending in the recovery mode. Nozhing seems to be fixing it.
Not anyā¦only on the RED one below the Lan port and that symptom of reading only for a bit, is usually a bad file name (A5570.CAP) or the board doesnāt like the USB drive model, try againā¦usually it can recover without the need of SPI programming.
Thank your for detailed reply, unfortunate. I coudnt fix it, even on the right USB port where it is outlined for bios FLBK. Usb drive is formated FAT32, Its 32gb it always worked for Bios-es thats why I have this one formatted that way. If I wont get the replacement because the warranty should still apply and cover it, Im gonna def. Try SPI programmer to bring the board back to life. In this case Im gonna need some help, Im pretty handy and learn quick.
I can flash the new Bios with flashback no problem, but the board will not post. I already checked my CPU on another board from my cousin and it works no problem, it has to be my board acting up.
All the help is in the guidesā¦ we cant expect that every little detail applies to every mb model.
You did know that this could break the system board rigthā¦
Now something in that bios has definitons that stick in the SPI or other ICsā¦ the chances of recovering are 50/50
EDIT: No i cantā¦i no Asus engineer/board design or having im my possesion such mb model.
This a recent mb release and for sure there is no schematics yet on the wildā¦
