Windows 10 installation

Hi guys, trying to install windows 10 on a laptop called GREFIC but not able to see SSD hard drive . Also, tryed to format but not accessible

Very useful info, a laptop brand and an “ssd” disk… that should be fine, we will try to help by telepaty.

@Maxmoabi Hi and welcome to the Win-RAID forum.

As MeatWar has suggested, you will need to give a more information about your system.

What model is the laptop?

What type of SSD is installed? (NVMe or SATA)

Have you had this system working with Windows before and if so which version?

When you “tryed to format” the SSD did you use the clean command from a command prompt with diskpart?

Here is a guide if you have not tried the cleaning the disk (WARNING: it will permanently erase all data and previous partitions/volumes on the drive):

How to Format a Hard Drive Using the Command Prompt

Hi guys,

I am trying to install windows 10 on a SSD NVMe drive which is not working. The brand laptop is GREFIC and model is GC2201. Yes I have had this system working with Windows 10 before and about version I don’t remember. When I “tryed to format” the SSD by the use of clean command from a command prompt with diskpart also not working.

I’m going to try to follow the steps as directed from your link.

Thanks Guys

Max

@Maxmoabi Does your laptop chipset support Intel RST? If so is it enabled?

There may be an option in the BIOS to allow Intel RST to remap your NVMe drive (PCIe storage) to RST.

If PCIe storage remapping is enabled this means that your NVMe drive will use the hardware device ID of the Intel RST controller and will require Intel’s RST driver to see the drive and install Windows.

If PCIe storage remapping is disabled you will need to install Windows using the drivers from the manufacturer of the NVMe drive.
