I put a lot of effort into installing Windows 7 on Dell G5 15 - 5587
To save some effort for some other people, and to piss off Microsoft with their s* politics,
I am writing my installation notes below.
I used Macrium Reflect Rescue USB stick (Windows PE 5) to solve many of the driver problems.
Just scan the rescue media for most of the drivers. They mostly match.
I used the USB and GPU drivers from this site. They work very well.
Make sure to upgrade the SSD firmware and Bios while still on Win 10. The installers don’t work on Win 7.
- I disabled Windows Hibernate functionality because my computer uses an SSD and the manufacturer (not Samsung) does not provide drivers for it.
- I also used the Snappy Driver Installer tool (the torrent version) to update some drivers.
- Also, I found a page with all the Dell official driver versions. (not very useful)

I made a backup of all the drivers in my system with Double Driver (great tool) (you can find it)
All my drivers are below. Unzip with 7 Zip and use Double Driver (DD) to open my driver archive.
You can export the diver list and versions with DD as a text file from both my archive and your system
and you can make a compare with Notepad++

What still doesn’t work:
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- Audio jack does not recognize devices. So headsets on jack port don’t work. USB headsets work perfectly. System Audio also works.
If you manage to make the WiFi to work, I would love to get the drivers.
