hello. i have a problem after updating gop on my reference vega 56. after flashing firmware with new gop i have low post and boot resolution, approximately it’s 12401024. motherboard is uefi with csm off. also, before updating with 2.0 stock gop i only got 19201080 resolution on my 4k display. same behavior i got with updated gop versions 2.1, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10…

@manhattan985 - Are you connecting to monitor the same always? Sometimes this makes a difference in output resolution.

maybe i dont realize your idea, but my sole 4k monitor always plugged in the same dp port. after flashing firmware i dont reconnect it. my monitor is dp 1.2 compliant

@manhattan985 - That’s an answer to my question, you always connect same way So it’s not changing due to how you are connecting and someone will have to try and help you sort the issue out.
You can try to enable CSM, reboot, and then go back in and disable CSM, to see if switching back n forth from legacy to GOP fixes the issue

i reflashed firmware with updated gop 2.10, then i switched to csm, and then to gop again. doesnt work. also i tried to reconnect display to another port. and again with no results.
----------------

i read on other forums about the same problem with vega and navi cards, in conjunction with modern motherboards z390 and etc. people with 4k displays has problems with boot resolution in gop mode. maybe amd gop 2.x has buggy resolution table or something structure that enumerates supported resolutions ?
just google "vega 64 boot resolution" or "rx5700 boot resolution"

@manhattan985 - Yes, it may be a common issue, someone may be able to help you fix it via settings changed within the GOP or vBIOS itself, not sure. You’ll have to wait and see if someone can help.
@Sylar76 may be able to help.

@manhattan985

Could you tell me if with your native VGA bios in UEFI mode the 4K resolution is properly displayed ?

If yes please attach the stock uefi bios of your VGA (make a dump please, don’t share techpowerup dumps)
and I’ll try to see what’s wrong with latest GOP tables.

@Sylar76

with native vga bios(gop 2.0) i only have 1920*1080 resolution in uefi mode.

@manhattan985

And if you put it in Legacy mode which is the resolution ? 4K ?

Did you try to disable inside bios the "display logo" option ?

Anyway try the attached bios please.

@Sylar76

with this rom i got the same result as with updated gop. if i enable csm, resolution is the same low.

I’m sorry but I haven’t any more ideas.

Sorry at all - may I quote the threads topic?

Except there are unusual problems modding your BIOS, please DIY!

@jgn123

Next time use tool for yourself please, it’s easy.

I have tried the tool many times but it did not work. Dropping .rom file onto the GOPupd.bat just disappeared in a split second. So I open elevated cmd and run the following without success.
I had Python 3.8.5 installed.

D:\Downloads\GOPUpd_v1.9.6.5>GOPupd.bat xfx.7750.rom
