My system seems to be missing the IME software/firmware. Which I believe results in odd things happening. Certain software not being able to install, (intel rapid storage, etc), long post times (47 seconds), time to windows login (1.25 minutes), shutting down never actually shuts down and kills power (fast boot disabled), odd cpu clock behavior, random total abrupt system shutdowns. Maybe it’s all related maybe it’s not.
Maunnally trying to flash updates using Gigabyte’s download for the system (which took me awhile to find) results in this: FWUpdLcl64.exe -F ME_11.8_Consumer_D0_H_Production.bin
Looking through and reading all of this is a bit overwhelming, so any help is greatly appreciated. Running MeInfo turns up:
So before doing anything else, I’m just reading. Hopefully, I can add along as I go here. I really have no idea where to begin beyond reading the library of information here. Thanks for all that’s written up, wow.

WIN64>FPTW64.exe -me -d me.bin Results in this: This is where I messed up. I should not have just dumped the ME portion of the chip
I think that means we're unlocked following the guide.
--------------------------------------
Dropping me.bin into MEA -Interesting.
------------------
Dumping Gigabyte's firmware into MEA
Found that one in the repository. 11.8.65.3590_CON_H_DA_PRD_RGN.bin ... Interesting that hte one that was dumped showed exceeded firmware size. --------------------------------
So the next steps of cleaning/building the bin. Using the dumped image, and also trying again with the Gigabyte supplied image. I get:
Hrmmmm -----------------------------
Hrmmm do I need to clean the dump file if I’m just trying to flash what Gigabyte has provided? Kind of stuck here.
I went through the steps again but with the Gigabyte/Aorus supplied driver. Still errors out. I’m missing a step or something I’m not aware of.
-------------------------------------
Ok I got a good build.
Third time reading through I realized I only dumped the me portion and not the entire chip contents.
-----------------------
@plutomaniac I'm at step 15. I think everything has gone well. I am a hair confused. It doesn't show what to type to flash the file just what happens afterward "fpt -greset" ... you would do "fpt -f outimage.bin" Just a bit scared here. hahaa
-------------------------------------
One interesting thing is the new SPI/BIOS is exactly the same amount of bytes as the the dump SPI/BIOS, 8,388,608.
I wonder if this will even fix my issue and it does worry me a bit.
------------------------------------
Still haven’t tried flashing this… I’m affraid it might brick my system without any possibility of fixing the issue.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Gigabyte support is saying its the IME chip itself, no idea if that’s true or possible. Is there a way to test this?
Don’t do it. There is a high chance you will brick your laptop.
Go to this link and download the correct BIOS https://www.aorus.com/product-detail.php?p=544#pd_download (either BIOS FB0D FD0D & EC F004, or BIOS FA0D FC0D & EC F004 - you must check your current BIOS version FB0* or FD0* or FA0* or FC0*)
@obesepete - Wow, please use the edit button if you need to add more info, and no one has replied yet, what a mess you’ve got here Post 1-4 all NORMAL, you dumped ME FW, looked at ME FW in MEA, all normal. The padding is normal, because you dumped it out of BIOS instead of being a straight stock (without settings) ME FW, it’s padded to fit into the fixed size region of the BIOS (1FF00h / 2044KB) Nothing needed cleaned or rebuilt, or anything like that, all you need to do is flash the ME FW region from BIOS provided by Gigabyte. Which may be a pain in the arse on a laptop, unless you are lucky and they’ve left FD unlocked like they do for their desktops. So, steps 5-10 waste of time, unnecessary, and you may end up messing things up more than they already are (if you can flash ME region)
IME (Intel ME) is a “Region” portion of the BIOS chip, it’s all same chip.
@bronxamigo 's post above is correct, stop now, slow WAY down, before you make things worse! you can brick your board in one click with FPT, so slow down and wait for help Additionally, you cannot flash the Intel ME FW update at Gigabytes download at top of BIOS section, that is stock unconfigured ME FW that can only be used with ME FW Update tool, which you cannot use because your ME FW is corrupted.
First, from ME System Tools V11 Flash Programming Tools/Win32 folder, dump FD and send to me so I can check before I tell you what your options are to do next >> FPTw.exe -desc -d fd.bin
