Extract "Latitude_E7x70_1.4.2.exe" file in PhoenixTool 2.66
After extracting the file will be "LATITUDE_E7X70_1.4.2" (size 16MB) -> this file to UEFI_Strip, we obtain microcodes and FW ME.

Yes, i know

The problem is, the checksum is wrong, also with the file you attached, i can insert with UT, but microcode the not visible in MMTool.

I also tested to do a small modification of GenSKL.bat, UBU says “OK” on replacing the microcode, but it still does not work.

EDIT: Ok, i managed to get the MB to post now, and report MC 82.

But, there still appears to be some problem, and i am just not sure what is the cause.

When extracting LATITUDE_E7X70_1.4.2 with UEFI_Strip 7.7.9, it gives this:

The mod i made with 7C looks like this with US 7.7.9

But the mod with 82.

How are you trying to extract the microcodes? For modern Dell executables (no icon), you need to use:

1) BEEF > Dell_HDR.py at the EXE
2) ZyxWorker > dellhdr at the HDR
3) Take the .rom file only for BIOS
4) Scan the .rom file with UEFIStrip

The uCodes you have attached are not proper. Search for the string “Dell” and you will see a structure which shouldn’t be there. I noticed that some time ago and notified Lordkag who in turn added a uCode Checksum check at the latest version of UEFIStrip (7.7.9). Apart from the checksum, 7.7.9 does not extract an intemediate .bin file when using ZyxWorker > dellhdr command so it’s not easy anymore to get confused and pick the .bin instead of .rom which is wrong and will result in semi-compressed data.

I have attached the correct uCode 82 for SKL, you can see the improper parts as well by using a Hex Editor but from now on if you follow the above steps (and in conjunction with the new UEFIStrip checks), you should be ok.

Note: If you were not using ZyxWorker > dellhdr in the past and just fed the .HDR to UEFIStrip you might find yourself having a lot of “Dell” semi-compressed (or whatever) microcodes. It’s best if you do a quick check by searching for “Dell” string or by using the new “bad hash” check implemented at UEFIStrip by using ZyxWorker > icpu like this:

1
2
3
4
5
6

@echo off
pushd "%~dp0"

for %%I in (%*) do (
%python% ZyxWorker.py "%%~dpnxI" icpu
)

Thanks, now works as expected

I did not understand, it is necessary to fill the entire file or only a certain offset?

Yes, the entire body of 5A88641B- is filled with FF.

Thank you Guys for keeping this tool updated, thus i do not always need it. Good to see all those microcodes being accessible to all on the latest platforms.
SoniX, i can load you web page for download the tool but the link does not open even after a quart hour, so i wait patiently to Fernando’s one.

It is available now.

Hmmm… 4096 byte, for X99 size 2048 byte…
Ok. In the near future it will be available in version 1.50.

I have a Lenovo Thinkserver TS130
C206 chipset rev 1 with sandy bridge Xeon E3-1235

I tried modding the firmware, and it added the microcode for Ivy bridge CPU, but when I put in new CPU (Xeon E3-1275V2), it makes 4 short beeps followed by 2 long beeps, then 1 short beep.
When I google the error beep codes, it says CPU clock fault.
When modding the driver there was no EFI GOP driver for the sandy bridge or ivy bridge.
Do you think I need to insert the EFI GOP driver, or is it something else that does not allow ivy bridge?
Rev 2 of the TS130, came out with Ivy bridge xeons, but I only have Rev 1

Ask jz and pay 10€ or do it yourself. He is a company and needs to pay taxes.

To whom is your advice addressed? I suspect, that you refer to >this< post.

He is talking about a microcode mod to allow mce. A hardware seller in germany if offering this service but charges 10€ for the mod and help to install. But I don´t know to to which post he is replying to.

HI,
the latest micro code cpu, is not a problem on i5 6600?
THANK YOU

Thanks mate, but I hope a new RST (non enterprise) will come too.

Hello!
Thank you for the new version.

I do not know how to be, to replace the current version 4.3, or to make a new one.
