okay, I’ve found it and UBU works like a charm. Congrats for the developers! Thank you for the help!
Edit: I used version 4.5 of the tool, not v5
Hello, I was going to ask which microcode to use? I have an ASRock EP2C612, and have used the ubu.bat to modify the microcode (I am aware of the warning regarding ASRock). I have tried a few microcode options, but each time on reboot it bricks the motherboard and will not boot. ASRock Dr. Debug 79 cpu chip error. I can re-flash the bios manually using flashcatUSB so I’m no longer afraid of trying new things. It’ should be noted I’m using engineering samples two e5-2695. Would an older bios help? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Since your ES CPU has a different CPUID from retail one, it won’t use the μcode for retail CPU. UBU will simply update retail CPU’s μcode and remove the others.
So DO NOT update your μcode if you are using an ES CPU!
awww… figured we were all using ES Xeons
Can anyone else confirm this? Does this shatter my overclocking dream? Seems like multiple forums are littered with the turbo exploit using engineering samples (e.g. forums.servethehome.com) perhaps I’ve been googling too long now… It does seem like turbo boost is working subpar @ 2.5ghz instead of 3.3ghz, but it’s boosting for all cores (perhaps that’s why). Is there a way to determine your max ghz for turbo? every place I look it shows 2.2 max, (BIOS,Task manager, etc…) yet on CPUID it did reach 2.5 under load.
I was considering buying the Z10PE-D8 WS if it allowed bclk overclock, but probably not worth the extra money. Think it may have additional features, the ASRock is a bit lacking only energy consumption/time for turbo.

First things first: This isn’t a OC related forum and yes i can confirm this. Seems you don’t know how CPUID/Microcode updates work? So yeah… don’t update the microcode in this case. Get a "real" CPU instead of an ES one. This solves the case…

Apparently, they did no more than patting the head of the <…> that screwed up the previous release, so he/she just went and did it again. Release 2017-05-11 is marked as "previously released", and has a wrong release date. Last time, it took about a month for someone to clean up after the <…>… and lots of Linux distros did not notice the new file was out for a month because of that.
@plutomaniac : which method are you using to track new releases from Intel? You are better at noticing them than Intel’s search engine
Meh. The new intel microcode release has a “releasenote” file… unfortunately, everything they tell you to do there is wrong and actively harmful , other than the information at the very beginning which gives some hint about to which processor the microcode updates apply.
It is weird when modding a BIOS is safer than following Intel’s instructions on how to apply microcode updates
It’s time for update 2…
Hello,
Can you update UEFI BIOS Updater (UBU) with all latest files for all of us
without MMTool
Thanks,
biozzz

@biozzz :
As soon as SoniX has uploaded a new Update package, I will offer links to a complete new UBU tool Set (without MMTool).
@SoniX :
When can we expect a new UBU Update?
@ ALL
Please accept my apologies.
I have temporary difficulties so far, but I will try to release the release before the end of May
