I just found out that MMTool_5.02.0024 can fix the microcode addresses in FIT automaticlly
i try to use it with ubu update but no works, its hexacoded on UBU
@monta990 :
Which “UBU Update” did you try and what is “hexacoded on UBU”?
Please explain, which UBU tool version with which MMTool variant you have used, which mainboard BIOS you have tried to modify and what exactly happened.
@ fernando thks your UBU bat works, i flashed the bios with all the 1.69 11 fix # 1 thru #7 options from a previous z87ws. cap file all seems ok.
The tweaked mmtool 5.2 seems to do the job fine ??
It seems, that it works fine with AMI Aptio IV and Aptio V UEFI BIOSes.
I have tested it with both Aptio platform BIOSes (ASUS Z68 and ASRock Z170).
Hello,
Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack v23.0 is out ! Combo Image Version Name 1.1862.0
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa…ete-Driver-Pack
Can you update UBU for us ?
Thanks, biozzz
Rename E…X7 and E…X3 (Apps\EFI\EFIx64) as in UBU.
OK, Thanks
Asus .cap extension having bios files still not recognized. Can you fix it?
@karakarga :
If you want to get support or want to report any find, you should
a) describe the problem as exactly as possible inclusive information about what you have used (here: which mainboard BIOS, which UBU tool version and which MMTool variant), what you have done and what happened and
b) post into the matching thread (you posted into the thread, which is reserved for SoniX and his UBU announcements).
Fernando, UBU_v1_70_a8_Dev was not able to open
X79-DELUXE-ASUS-4805.cap,
SABERTOOTH-X79-ASUS-4801.cap,
Rampage-IV-Extreme-ASUS-4901.cap
SABERTOOTH-990FX-GEN3-R20-ASUS-2501.cap etc.
But current (latest) UBU v1.70.a10_DEV-fixed can now open them. So the problem is currently fixed!
Just wondering after this patch will MMTool work fine on other Aptio 5 bios’s as well? Is 5.02.024 the latest version?
Thanks
@davidm71 :
coromonadalix had solved his problem after having used my customized UBU.bat file (look >here<).
2 x Yes!
Thanks Fernando. Will patch it right away then! Thanks.
I as well cannot properly open or modify asus bios image using UBU_v1_70_a10_DEV.
I had to confirm by going back to v1.69.11.
UBU_v1_70_a10_DEV opens to the menu but the only menu item that works is microcode menu and exit.
LAN update, VBIOS update, And SATA driver update. not working…
UBU_v1_70_a10_DEV being tested on a ASUS Z270 Tuf Mark 1 BIOS version 1203.
UBU v1.69.11 modified it just fine.
1.70 - ALPHA, it is in reDEVeloping, so nothing works except watching microcodes.
I found a copy of MMTool 5.02.0024 on the Overclockers.Ru site and what is odd is that the file size of the executable is 15,644 kb large where as version 5.00.07 was about 1,000 KB in size!
Maybe the compiler they used wasn’t as efficient or statically linked?
This makes me wonder if this copy of MMTool is legit or safe to use?
Fwiw I found the patch data hex values exactly as where it was stated to be earlier…
Thanks
davidm71
I have found it in Overclockers.ru at xxxxxxx adress,
MMTool 5.2.0.24 Date modified 31.01.2018 (very new but still beta!)
MMTool 5.0.0.7 Date modified 14.03.2014
Well, 31.January.2018 is a very close date. It might be possible, contains malware or trojan. This one is later dated after “meltdown and Spectre bug” be very careful. It maybe build by AMI because of the known bug or it may have the spectre devil inside…
Wait for SoniX’s respond…
EDIT by Fernando: Not allowed link removed
Today intel has released a new microcode for skylake (Spectre fix v 2.0), can you update your tool to include it? Thanks
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2018/02/…remain-in-beta/
Well the file size doesnt make sense why its 16 X larger!
Also inside file looks like a lot of Russian characters at end…
Trust?
