I was searching for a comparison between the different OROM’s that exist.
My current board has version 12.5.0.1815 what would be the advantages of upgrading to 13.5.0.2164?
In AHCI & RAID ROM Modules it is said that the 13 version is for series 8 chipset which I have if I’m not mistaken. Why would Asrock ship it with a 12 version?
AHCI mode: No impact at all.
RAID mode: Better stability resp. performance while running your Intel SATA port connected HDDs/SSDs, provided, that you have installed a matching Intel RST(e) driver version.
You should ask ASRock, but not us.
I have it running in RAID mode so that sounds good, but there is no comparison overview available anywhere of the differences?
Do you need more than the comparison tests I have done with my Z97 RAID0 system? Please look into the start post of >this< thread.
There is no big difference regarding the best Intel RST(e) driver/OROM combination between 8- and 9-Series chipset RAID systems.
