Bios Unlock Request - Clevo N960TF

@haudegen1993 Thanks, I will check it!

Class 25 chips are not read only, we read and write to them all day long on many systems! This is main why people purchase CH341A
The quote you found and posted, is about a single certain chip Brand (SST), and only in some cases, and even then those chip can be written too now as well, if you remove if from the board, or if you use certain software and let the write finish (at 20 minutes+ usually )
You do not have SST chip, so you don’t even have to worry about that!

Hmm, I checked post #15, no link to zipped images? Anyway, I’m sure lfb6 was correct in the chip he mentioned, since he looked at your images. Dump that chip using software I mentioned above (both) and send to me, in a max compressed zip

* Edit - Also, I looked over my guesses to unlock, and I think it will be correct So, we just need to make sure you get a good backup, the you can flash via FPT and test.

@Lost_N_BIOS Hmm weird, were 12 JPGs in Post 15  - now ive split them into 4 zip à 3 pics, (damn 6mb max size)

gonna go doing the fresh backup next

Edit: Attached the Biosreg from FPT too, writing back the Bios worked too.

Maybe this helps too

compressed.zip (5.15 MB)

compressed1.zip (5.45 MB)

compressed2.zip (4.27 MB)

compressed3.zip (4.18 MB)

@haudegen1993 - Yes, I see images in post #15, but those are attached, not in zip.
Please upload single package to some free file host, downloading split packages is HUGE pain here due to how the forum renames stuff when you download attached files.
I really don’t need to see the images anymore, so you can skip all that, lfb6 already gave us your BIOS chip ID so no need for me to look

Just do programmer backups, then send me those + FPT dump all in one zip, upload to some free file host
I use uploadfiles.io right now, due to tinyupload.com is down, but any you like will do as long as it’s free

@Lost_N_BIOS here are the bios files
biosreg via FPT
bios_asprogrammer - well via asprogrammer
https://ufile.io/usisr9rw

Edit: tried the edited file from @Blossomcrown FPT said succesful, but no new menus appeared

@Lost_N_BIOS were this files enough or Do u need more?

@haudegen1993 - Sorry for the delay! programmer dump looks good. On the FPT dump you sent, was that one made recently or something? It doesn’t match the one you sent me before, but if you just made it then NVRAM would be different so that’s expected.
Here, please test, flash via FPTw.exe -bios -f filename.bin >>

If biosregm1 does not show any new menus, then test biosregm2. If neither show new menus let me know and I will edit other direction (my 3-4 guess)

Wait! Was this most recent FPT dump, and or programmer dump, included above at post #24, made BEFORE you tested Blossomcrown’s edit, or after?
If after, then I need to use your initial BIOS region dump you sent me. If before, I can use these files instead of your previous FPT dump you sent me early on.
No BIOS made yet until this is clarified, I don’t want to edit on top of failed edit

@Lost_N_BIOS The Bios Dump was before i tested Blossomcrowns edit - played back the oem ones from clevo now
Made a new dump and attached the original one from clevo too maybe this will help you
https://ufile.io/z86klqk4

@haudegen1993 - Thanks for confirmation, but now I can’t use the files from before, so have to wait again because I don’t want to download above (already have Clevo BIOS from you, don’t need to download again)
Please upload only your new current dump, thanks.

@Lost_N_BIOS as requested, here is the biosreg.bin only

biosreg.zip (4.66 MB)

@Lost_N_BIOS i dont wanna annoy you, but have u found something or do u need something more?

@Lost_N_BIOS hmm mate are u still up for it?

@haudegen1993 - Sorry for the delay! Please test in following order, once new menu appears stop, no need to test further (ie if #1 shows menu, that’s all we needed )
Flash via >> FPTw.exe -bios -f filename.bin
https://www.sendspace.com/file/0hdsql

1. biosregM2B
2. biosregM4B

*** WARNING - To ANYONE with laptop and unlocked BIOS!!!
DO NOT try to enable this graphics card or disable that card, switch cards etc. Otherwise you will end up with no display output (ie black screen) and no way to recover except by blind flash or with flash programmer.
You can change graphics related settings, like changing memory sizes, or core speeds etc, just don’t try to disable one card or change which is main etc.

Additionally, be very careful when trying to undervolt CPU, you can leave BIOS unbootable due to CPU voltage too low (Sometimes even 0.05 is too much)

WARNING *** - This BIOS is user specific! If you are not user haudegen1993 at Win-RAID.com forum, DO NOT USE THIS BIOS!!
If you do, and you are not haudegen1993, then you will loose your serial, UUID, OG NVRAM, and possibly LAN MAC ID as well.
You have been warned!!!

Tried both of them, but didnt work :frowning:
At the try of biosregM4B.bin the last line is:
RESULT: The data is identical.10240KB of 10240KB - 100 percent complete.
heres the full result of the flashing process, maybe it ll help u?

Hmm, that can’t be right, unless you first saved some BIOS with that name (ie forgot to use -f first)
Download the package again, and try >> FPTW.exe -bios -f biosregM4B.bin once more (Don’t use -d ever here), there’s no way it’s 100% match to anything.
Actually, that is what it says every time at end of flash, sorry got confused there for a second But, it doesn’t look right, there should be more changed bytes that what’s shown there.

Also, before you do that, flash M2B first again and show me the output like above, it looks like it may not be flashing in all the changes

In case this is happening, and it’s not flashing in the volume we’re actually editing, please flash back your original FPT dump (latest one - ie file in post #29), then do below after rebooting
FPTw.exe -a 0x620000 -l 0x420000 -d VolMainDXE.bin

Then I will make you new edit to flash in using this method instead

@Lost_N_BIOS
Downloaded the new version (r27) of intel csme and extracted your files directly into it, so there are only 3 files in win32 folder now
Flashing biosregM4B.bin:

there are no changes too - so i wrote back the original biosreg.bin, which needs more time, and this is the output result:
