Hi,
I tried gpt and mbr. None of them worked.

dear All,
I have one of these ASMEDIA SATA controler ( 2 internal ports, 2 external) , but I have a problem using it:
If I plug 2 drives on it, the PC boot hangs on ASMEDIA infos ( firmware 0.951)
if only one drive is plugged⌠no problem
Iâve also tested to install a 2nd controller card: 1st ASMEDIA info (with one drive) is OK, but then ASMEDIA for the 2nd card hangsâŚ
seems that my system only accepts 1 card with 1 HDD.
is there a possibility that flashing 0.97 firmware could fix this problem?
Thanks
I have seen this bug in a x58 gigabyte motherboard.
Ine newer motherboards work ok.
Also have u set the jumpers?
Great job.
Could you also add an option for 0.95 firmware for those who find 0.97 misbehaving? That would make you CD an ultimate all-case solution.
I have modified the drivers & firmware disc.
Now contains firmware for AHCI versions 0.951 , 0.97, 3.80 & 4.27. IDE versions - 0.951 , 3.70.
Click HERE to download the ISO image.
EnjoyâŚ
good evening everybody !!! sorry, little orthodox english but I use the google translator !!!
I wanted to know if I can use the firmware update for my pcie board with asm1061 with the following ID:
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0612&SUBSYS_ABCD6102&REV_01
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0612&SUBSYS_ABCD6102
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0612&CC_010601
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0612&CC_0106
version 3.30a is currently installed.
is there a system to make a backup of the original fimware to be used in case of failure of the update ???

Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
Why do you want to update the Firmware of your ASMedia SATA Controller? Do you have any problem with the Controller?
Do you really mean the Firmware (has to be flashed into the Controller chip) or an Option ROM, which is inside the mainboard BIOS?
What is a âPCIe boardâ? Which model do you have and who is the manufacturer?

Dieter (alias Fernando)
Thanks for the attention !!!
it is an additional controller on PCIE 2.0 port, bought on ebay, branded debroglie db-2016, there is a real problem !!! the controller works well with both the basic drives and the ASM 3.2.3, if it were not for me to work with the basic Microsoft drivers precisely AHCI 1.0 standard ATA controller, as there is a Samsung 840 evo SSD connected to it 250 gb. both with the basic drivers and with the latest asmedia 1061 ver. 3.2.3, the SSD is seen as a removable unit, even if in fact there is the operating system however I could not disconnect it, the performance is improved compared to the controller intel ICH10 / R on the motherboard that are sata II, tests carried out both with magician than with CrystalDiskMark: sequential read and write connected on sata onboard: 283; 273: mb / s connected to the ASM1061; 411; 357; mb / s.
N.B. when I install the ASM1061 drivers, the system adds its storage controller, and the SSD is seen as a SCSI disk.
operating system: W7 ultimate 64bit
motherboard: ASUS P5Q PREMIUM - 8GB RAM
video card: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTS 250 IGB RAM
SSD connected to PCIE 2.0 controller (asm1061): SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB
HDD connected on SATAII intel onboard: 1TB WESTERN DIGITAL RE3.
Thank you very much ! What the doctor ordered )
no reply !?!?!?!?!?
I write it there if someone meet it.
1)With cms on (compatibility mode) with asrock motherboard z97 and fast boot to disabled all the firmware work ok.
2)with uefi on and fast boot to disabled and secure boot to on, only 0.951 firmware works all the other firmware results in motherboard hang on restart.
If u use fast boot or ultra fast boot u must install the as media driver because if u power the system after a hybrid shutdown (windows 10) the HDD that is attached on as-media controller needs 3 minutes to work. (and in event viewer u take that raid port reset issued).
If u install the asmedia driver and i tried all of them from 2014 if u play a video from the hard drive attached to asm1061 and try to open a utility like hdtune or hwinfo64 the system will hard freeze. This problem is well known in hwinfo forum.
So with little words if u have a motherboard in uefi mode and want to add an as media controller, use the firmware 0.951 , and in motherboard uefi disable the ultra fast boot and the fast boot. Use the default windows drivers and donât add the as-media drivers that hard freeze the machine when a utility scans for hard drive smart.
p.S.
I found that the old version that is provided from asrock 1.4.1 (26/12/2012) Works with sata , esata, ultra fast boot, has activated trim and have policies with cache mode and hot swap also supports hipm and dipm. All the new drivers from 2012 and after dont support trim neither hipm and dipm and dont include cache mode and hot swap policies.
And the more intersting is that it works without problem in the last windows 10 1803 and not freeze the system like all the other verions when a utility like hwinfo scans for hdds.I think this is the only real driver for asmedia 1061.
I use it in my system.(I donât use it for boot only for storage) Asrock support says if u use it for boot to use the default drivers built in windows 8-10.
Asmedia after that version released more chips like 1061r and 1062 and 1092 and they tried to include all the chips in the same driver so they cut the corners.

I have the above card and it neither displays a boot message nor allows booting as the drives connected are not displayed in the system bios. Note that this is a combo card with both SATA III and USB 3.0 ports by Asmedia. I am not sure about its current version, but I am thinking if these issues could be solved with a newer firmware. Can anyone help?
Hi, there is a new Version 4.27 (on station drivers). Someone tried flash to expand card? The size is strange, less than in the past.
Asmedia ASM-106x Sata 6G Controller Firmware Version 4.27
-https://www.station-drivers.com/index.phâŚid=3690&lang=en
It is a windows updater no need for dos.
Maybe is only for 3.80?
I looked into it and it is truly v4.27.
With that said, this new v4.27 firmware is probably just to replace the v3.80 for chips with 2 Pci-e lanes. If it is built like the old v3.80 then it wonât post at startup with a chip with just 1 Pci-e lane. So the old v0.97 is probably still the current firmware with a 1 lane chip.
But i can be wrong, i didnât test the new v4.27 so it is just a guess at this point.
Hello,
I am new to the forum, but I can see that you guys might be able to help me
I have brand new Delock 89384, which appears to use ASMedia 106x controller with firmware version 1.50 (if I am correct).
I have some issues with card - not all of the drives are being detected. I thought of updating firmware and this is how I got to this forum. I have tried updating to 3.02, 3.70 - both show âcontroller not foundâ message. Also 4.27 shows error message that controller is not ready.
My mainboard is Gigabyte Z77-DS3H with UEFI.
My questions are:
1. Would updating firmware help to solve the problem?
2. Do I need old mainboard with trusty BIOS to run FW update?
I will be very thankful for any other directions.
Regards,
Kasia
This is very interesting sata card. Can you take some photos is three main chips?
@kasia :
Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
Although I cannot help you myself (I donât have any experience with an add-on ASMedia SATA Controller card), I am curious about the final solution of your problem.
It would be fine, if you could post the HardwareIDs of the cardâs ASMedia SATA Controller.

Dieter (alias Fernando)
Thank you for your replies!
Unfortunately I am already off home for weekend, so I wonât be able to test anything new for 2 days.
However, I took pictures of card and I can tell, that along with ASMedia 1062 there are two JMB575 chips. I have also - probably successfully - updated firmware to this one:
https://www.station-drivers.com/index.phâŚid=2881&lang=en
but it did not help. Still not all drives, actually most of them, are not detected. Also, now this screen which I uploaded in my first post is not showing.
FW updater worked as seen here:
About hardware ID, I cannot check it now, but I remember that part of it was DEV_0625.
Hello, I have checked the Hardware IDâs of controller. The device is seen in Device Manager as Asmedia 106x SATA/RAID Controller.
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0625&SUBSYS_10601B21&REV_01
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0625&SUBSYS_10601B21
PCI\VEN_1B21&DEV_0625&CC_010601
