Which thread should I ask?
Today I found out my USB 3 port by ASM1074 seems a bit choppy on performance
My Motherboard is Asus Vanguard B85
So I did to downgrade the current firmware from 14041503E500 to 13031903030EV1
But unfortunately I accidently terminate the firmware upgrade process when it was processing.due to the program got stuck at 70% and hanging for a long time
After that,I can’t make it work again no matter on Bios or Reflash on windows…
What can I do to restore two 2USB 3.0 port back of my motherboard on working states again?
Thanks for that,But does there has any tools I could use for fixing this problem…
Can I flash it thought other tools like flashrom in linux???
Because I don’t know where does the firmware of ASM1074 stored.
The Firmware is stored within the Controller chip and not within the mainboard BIOS.
OMG,So that means no way to flash it???How can I force to flash back the firmware inside the chipset…
I saw that,But I have no knowledge about how to read the hex and program it to my ASM1074 Chipset
(the first page post is about ASM104x…)
107X and 104x has different Flash tools,107x didn’t provide any flash tools for DOS…just on windows and rely over working USB Hub and ASM107x Generic filter driver
future more I don’t know how to flash it without programmer…
I don’t know what I need to do now…
@aaa839 :
If you want to get help within this Forum, you have to wait for someone, who knows more about how to recover a broken Firmware than me.
As you surely know, the main topics of this Forum are the Storage Drivers and the BIOS Modding. Your problem is neither Driver nor BIOS related. Bad consequence: There are not so many Firmware experts among the Forum members.
@aaa839 ,
Something similar happened to me some months back and I recovered. I remember i had to use a dos usb key with the firmware formated to 64kb to pull it off. I also experimented with different versions of flashing tools. I detailed my experience in this thread multiple pages back. Will have to review my posts for more clarification.
Good luck
@davidm71 :
Would you explain in detail about your experiences?
or mention about which page did you have written down your experience for recovery…
This incident was a nightmare for me…
My current situation is bought a new motherboard to replace my current ASUS Vanguard B85
I have go through whole post seems no one has experience with ASM1074
Jus applied for ASM104x
It can be found on page 21.
Tried but LSCPI not listed my ASM1074 chipset nor it recognize by Devices manager logs…
(Also Asm1074 is an USB 3 HUB not controller…)which Asus add that to extended the Intel B85 USB 3 Ports limits.
I’m more curious now…
@aaa839 :
First you need to make a DOS bootable USB key using Rufus. Then you have to go to Station Drivers and download the DOS firmware flashing tools and put them on the usb disk.
Then take a backup of your asmedia firmware rom and try to flash it back after correcting the size to 64KB. If you don’t have a backup like I did you have to beg others
with same motherboard on Overclock.Net for a backup. I think I have the tools I used on mediafire. Let me check…
Heres the links to my dos files with example on backing them up:
1. Download
a. http://www.mediafire.com/file/6sqxu8au6v…131025.zip/file
b: http://www.mediafire.com/file/boj3eafc0e…_02_0D.zip/file
2. Create a DOS Bootable usb stick using RUFUS and copy the unpacked files onto a folder on the usb drive
3. Dump both firmwares for 1142 by typing:
“114Xfwdl.exe /A”
“104Xfwdl.exe /A”
But Im ASM1074 Not ASM 104X or 114X
ASM1074 No DOS tools provide…
Only windows Firmware updater…
Oh. Sorry I am not sure if those tools I posted will work then.
I would try different versions of the windows flashing tools posted here:
https://www.station-drivers.com/index.ph…&id=462&lang=en
and hope it works. Maybe ask Lostnbios for help.
Sorry
Is ok
I try all the tools nothing work
@aaa839 :
What about contacting the ASMedia Technical Support?
It is their task to offer for their devices (here: USB 3.0/3.1 Controllers) properly working Firmware and the related Flash Tool.
It cannot be the consequence of your issue, that you have to buy a new mainboard/system just because the USB Controller Firmware or the Flash Tool was not ok.
