[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions/Reports/Suggestions

@BlackArchon

Recovery in case you get a brick.
Try modd https://cloud.mail.ru/public/3wLX/2F5sCXAvM

Edit:
File removed. Solution found.

Oh you mean if I have a programmer tool? Yes, I do have a CH341A-based one - it has already saved me from several accidents. :slight_smile:
Thank you for the BIOS, I will flash it tomorrow.
Can you elaborate what the the cause of the problem was? Did mmtool have an issue with Asrock’s BIOS file?

@BlackArchon

Ok. After flashing the modd BIOS, be sure to report the result - positive or not.

I don’t know yet, but I will look at this situation.

In your case, there is an excessive search for the file with microcodes…
Change your search pattern here:
Before

1
2
3
4
5
6
7

:cpua
echo;
echo [Replacement]
>> rem set patt_acpu=2455434F44455653
>> set patt_acpu=20............0.80.00............0.......0............0.

After

4
5
6
7

:cpua
echo;
echo [Replacement]
>> set patt_acpu=2455434F44455653
>> rem set patt_acpu=20............0.80.00............0.......0............0.

And everything will be OK.

PS Then I will add autoselection for the search pattern.

I cannot get this bat file to work. Windows Enterprise N 2016 LTSB 64-bit

"/f was unexpected at this time"

All I want to do is change the Intel RAID ROM/EFI BIOS module to v15.9.1.3271 on the latest BIOS update for my Asus Maximus Hero X Wifi (So I can install Windows 7)

@b60khansen

1) Run as Administrator or UAC full disabled.
2) To check, disable the antivirus.
I checked on W10 LTSB, there were no problems. Unless posting on the "Desktop".

I was successful at flashing your modded BIOS, thank you. :slight_smile:

Important!

Windows Security found "Trojan:Win32/Occamy.C" in MCE.exe file of UBU_v1_74_0_4.rar file downloaded from mega.nz

Important

Use a proper AntiVirus solution. False positive.

@all UBU users:
To make it easier for you I have uploaded the latest updated variant of the UBU tool v1.74.0.4 to my MEGA account.

I am currently delaying the release of UBU. Experimenting with the replacement of GOP_VBT for the entire line from HSW to CFL+.

@ALL

Friends, owners of motherboards based on 370 and 390 chipsets, need your help.
If your BIOS has a GOP of 9.0.1082 and higher (official), then you should try to downgrade to 9.0.1080, and check whether all video ports work or not.
We need to understand the effect of the VBT version on the GOP version.
Thanks.

After download of UBU from the developers link my Windows 10 Defender says:
Status: Entfernt oder wiederhergestellt
Erkannte Bedrohung: Trojan:Win32/Occamy.C
Warnstufe: Schwerwiegend
Datum: 02.09.2019 17:14

Betroffene Elemente:
file: D:\Downloads\UBU\MCE.exe

@RoughBoy :
Please read >this< statement given by the owner of this Forum.

@SoniX : MSI z370m mortar here (DisplayPort + HDMI).
I currently have 9.0.1084 and just found a new BIOS with 1086. what should I do? is there an option in UBU to downgrade or should it be done manually?

@elisw

Thanks!
In UBU:
File from "Files\Intel\GOP\1151\IntelGOPDriver.efi" copy to folder "Files\Intel\GOP\1151v2"
If you select "Video", it should be displayed as 9.0.1080.
Replace, flash and check.

done!
both HDMi and DP are working fine, could enter the BIOS and edit parameters.
Unfortunately I cannot check the DVI port as I don’t have a cable/adapter.
edit: not sure if it is relevant but it takes a bit longer to turn off: screen goes black, no HDD activity but it takes nearly 30 seconds to stop all lights and fan.

Thank you This information is enough for me.

This is for special occasions. When on board for example 2 networks, and one of them has outdated information about Device ID.
