EFI LAN BIOS + Intel GopDriver modules

Not true.
For this file it will be correct:
EFI LAN Intel Gigabit UNDI Driver x64 v0.8.05
Support i-210/211/new 225/350 etc
Alternative name - PRO1000

@SoniX

Yes, i realised that when i looked into the codes and didnā€™t see the new i-225 in the support list. Honestly, i am not sure what to make of that fileā€¦ Every latest versions i have are already a newer version except the legacy one at v0.0.29 but i doubt it is a newer version of that because the increase in version number seems too big (but i guess itā€™s not impossible). Is there any way to find a date in this file? I know the Microsoft timestamp is 2010 but that donā€™t mean anything because it is always 2010ā€¦

@Phoenix48

For i225 known to me Device ID 0x15F2
As I said, you need to wait for the official release of the package "Intel Network Software"
At the moment, these releases are considered beta versions.

EFI LAN Gigabit UNDI v0.0.xx (82579/217/218/219) official release

If it can help somehow, this EFI Intel UNDI v0.8.05 module comes, so far exclusively, from new ASUS top z490 motherboards, like:

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STā€¦specifications/
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ProArtā€¦specifications/
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-MAā€¦specifications/

which clearly claim in their specs ā€œIntelĀ® I225-V 2.5Gb Ethernetā€

@frwil

The new i-225 (2.5 Gb) chip has been officially announced.
There is a list of Device ID for this chip.
This list is added to this EFI driver, which contains lists of Device IDs for other i-210/211/350 chips and so on.
And keep in mind that these are the first releases and the driver may well be a beta version.
Almost the same thing happened with i219 and Realtek 2.5G.

New i225 chip
Support DevIO - 0x15F2 and 0x15F3
Name in Windows Driver - PRO2500

OROM and EFI files are not yet officially visible.

@Fernando

What is the source for this statement? The "GOPDriver" is a BIOS module and will be loaded before the OS is started.

  1. Windows 7 will not boot in UEFI mode
  2. Windows 7 Setup hangs at "Starting Windows" on Surface Pro
  3. Install Windows 7 at UEFI Graphics Output Protocol (GOP) hardware

Point 2 is an explanation from Microsoft:

Out of curiosity, I decided to check how it really is. I used for the test: ASUS P8H61-M LE R2 (bios 1408) + AMD HD7450 with legacy/GOP vbios:

  • I started the computer with WinPE 5.0
  • I started the Win7 installation from an ISO image shared on the LAN:
    net use z: \192.168.xxx.xxx\f /user:name pass
    z:
    sources\setup
  • the installation has started but after the first restart only the Starting Windows logo appears, the computer restarts and the bios automatically turns on CSM displaying the message:

    bios_CSM_on.JPG

  • I agree to CSM and press F2 to continue
  • Windows Error Recovery starts where I select Start Windows Normally
  • Win7 installation continues (CSM on)
  • after restart, I install the video card driver and restart the system
  • I enter the bios and turn CSM off, I restart the system

Unfortunately, even after installing the graphics driver, the system does not start without CSM - again a bios message appears that CSM mode has been turned on.

Maybe with other graphics cards the trick with the graphics driver installed will work but in my test configuration Win7 does not work without CSM.

Windows Driver e2f68 is available though.

As it is with I219-V, the most common I225-V (Device ID 15F3) will be ignored by MS Server OSā€™s.

Hi,

How can I check what is the version of my current UEFI LAN Driver? My system has i211 LAN Controller.

Thanks.

@Sobak

Open your Bios with UBU.

Update for Intel 2.5 Gb LAN:

@SoniX
found newer GOP 9.0.1108 with vbt230. ā€” vbt228->GOP 9.0.1108 and z390 works too.

GOP_9.0.1108_with_vbt_230.zip (40.5 KB)

Can I install vbt 230 for skylake??

Do you have a BSF for 230 and originak VBT.bin for SKL/KBL?

A: Not if there are no source files.

I thought that vbt.bin can works with my PC. Yesterday I installed on my pc and I went to bios and disabled csm but after that my monitor wasnā€™t displaying anymore. I fixed this by removing battery cmos.

@SoniX ,

the file GOP_9.0.1108_with_vbt_230.zip from morpheus67, are not for Kaby Lake?

intel\GOP\Usr_GOP\IntelGopDriver.efi
intel\VBIOS\vbtskl.bin

What do you mean BSF?

Thatā€™s right. VBT as VBIOS are configured.
You canā€™t just take and replace the first one, such as the IPST or GOP Drivere.

@mouseT447

In general, in this case, it is like an indicator that a new VBT 230 has been released and it was paired with GOP 1108.
The source files VBT and BSF version 230 are not yet available. We wait.

But I assume that 1108 can work with version 228.
