using the hex editor, using the trick with the file dumny.dum

at the end, the SBF module was substituted for the new module to improve the checksums.

I could not replace the rtegrom.lom file. I needed to move the dbios.bmp file for this but no success.

I do not know if the trim is active - trimcheck says it’s not, but maybe it’s the effect of having two different SSD drives 32 gb no name :wink:

two SSD is not a problem, that is OK. Do you have your SSD’s connected to the Intel HDD ports (Yellow/Orange)? Are the SSD’s in RAID? If yes, did you use RAID ROM with “TRIM mod support” added?

I’m just so, hobbistically.

When you modified BIOS, did you put in “TRIM modified” rom, or stock one? You need to download from red link from this page, not the blue link

Also, you did not reply about the SATA Ports on the motherboard. Make sure the SSD"s are both connect to the orange ports, not the purple ports

So that was problem? You were not using the RAID TRIM Mod file? I thought maybe that was it, good catch for the both of us, hopefully once you put in correct module all will be working properly!

RAID Rom file is (Should be) exact same size, so maybe you can direct hex edit, replace, then to correct checksum open BIOS in cbrom and extract/replace last module or some module under sensitive ones. That way you don’t have to do the hard work method again.

I can not trimcheck to detect the trim (I have two different ssd, two different manufacturers) - I will try another method

this motherboard always got up but in memory ddr2 its controller is stitched probably in bootblock. I use 8 gb ddr3 on a daily basis (this motherboard has support for ddr2 and ddr3)
I’m just begging you that other Gigabyte motherboards for ddr2 and ddr3 support are similar.
If you do not want to run with ddr3, let’s get this memory out and put in ddr2, do the reflash of the bios and after the trouble

Two different SSD should not matter? Set a stripe and test, once an array is made the OS only sees it as one larger drive.

I don’t know what you are asking about when you mentioned DDR2 and DDR3, either should be OK but you may need to tweak DDR3 settings more than DDR2 (Since DDR3 memory was probably not designed for this chipset, so default SPD/XMP timings may be too tight)

I do not ask for memory ddr2 and ddr3 just as if someone had a problem with my mod bios, black screen ;-), inserting the memory ddr2 allows you to run the bios anyway, multifaceted my modification I saw a black screen and inserting ddr2 instead of ddr3 saved me.
I did another mod with Intel RST RAID ROM v11.2.0.1527, because the one is faster about 1% from Intel RST (e) RAID ROM v12.9.0.2006 on this motherboard.
while the older module JMicron JMB36x RAID ROM v1.0.7.28 for DEV_2363 is probably better for the motherboard.

I did not take away the lan rom because it has a module that is sensitive to shifting, I tried to move dbios.bmp but besides, to make room for a larger lan rom, the output would be a cut-out, oem logo.
Replacing lan rom unless no will speed up the network card anyway?

I would be grateful if someone who has such a motherboard would confirm the action of the trim on it

So that comment was to another post, before thread was moved/combined, about DDR2/DDR3 I mean?
No, LAN rom isn’t going to speed up the LAN speeds, unless maybe some major bug in the version you are using now. It just would help fix issues possibly, like bug fixes that were reported, or maybe some small setting adjustment etc.

I have had same problem with GA EP35C-DS3R rev.2.1 and DDR3.
With original or modded BIOS, it makes no difference, DDR3 doesn’t work.
And also changing voltages in BIOS had no effect, after restart there was all back to default.
Could be board, could be BIOS - I don’t know …

Your modded bios-file looks good. MEMINIT.BIN & PPMINIT.ROM are at the same address/position.
Microcodes seams to be proper installed. dummy.dum … is very nice work!
If the checksum is something like “XX00” (with “00” at the end), then you could try it.

How did you create/manage the correct size & compressed size for dummy.dum?

I immediately tried when I cooked the bios ;-), I did a lot of worrying work,I had bad luck, but as written at the top, this motherboard , that she gets up on the ddr2 bones always and then reflash and after troubles.

I made a dummy.dum method of errors and probes, I cut a file in the hex editor and threw it into the rom until the file reached the appropriate size after compressing and then cut its code in the hex editor and put in the right place.
It’s a tedious job, but if you have the skill it’s relatively easy.
I did not look at the checksums, according to information from Fernando and other experts, cbrom fixes the checksums, something should be uploaded some small file and then it should be deleted and the cbrom will fix the checksums
I saw a colleague @aaaaaa889 applies the “OEM modfix for the Bios Award” the right tool for this but I could not get it from the Chinese sites.
(a similar module has the Andy Award_Tool_1.37 program for the “slic 2.1” broadcast, I saw it in action ;-), aligned, counted, the number of bytes in the module (I think) acpitbl.bin and did not damage the bios ;-)) I did this only for tests, the mod included by me does not have a slic table 2.1

As for the memory of ddr3 it is great - I emphasized my Xeon l5408 test to the 1600 bus and multiplier 7.5 without any problem - I go to the bus 1333 and multiplier 6 for me only a typewriter because I do not like laptops :wink:
