Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD7 BIOS "RAID-ROM" Modding

Hi,
I Got a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD7 for years now. Best Motherboard I ever tried , OC’ed and it’s still running like a new after all!

Last week I bought 4 x 3TB (Seagate Barracuda : ST3000DM001) to save personal data before thing go wrong on my others olds dirty drive. =/
So Yesterday, I plug-in all NEW drive on my board by the P55 PCH Controller. Booted up Win7 Pro X64 … (AHCI Mode) everything was OK, 4 drives ready to use in OS, 4 x 2794GB capacity. Nice!

Thing go wrong when I reboot, change BIOS Setting (Integrated Chipset / PCH SATA / Mode “AHCI” to “RAID XHD”) to enable RAID Controller and setup my ARRAY.
When I tried to build my RAID 10 (1+0) array in RAID Bios Setup (CTRL+i) on boot … I realized my RAID ROM (Intel(R) RAID for SATA - v9.5.0.1037) DO NOT SUPPORT 3TB drive … NOOOOOoooooo. (http://img-cache.cdn.gaiaonline.com/b33b…33495987485.jpg)
The RAID ROM “v9.5.0.1037” list my 4 NEW “3TB Seagate Barracuda” as 746 GB drive in BIOS. WTF!???
Same thing in Win7 X64 and Linux Mint ; drive capacity not recognize…

Today, after a long and painful Google Search, I finally fund you “Fernando’s Win-RAID Forum”. This post GA-H57-USB3 Need to mod BIOS to update Intel Rapid Storage Option ROM
I personally have a good experience in IT, made a lots of PC build, flash a lot of BOARD, but … knowing how to extract, MOD a BIOS and put it back in for a ride!!! That’s BIG BALLS YOU GOT. XD
BUT Ok, If 2 Gigabyte board like a “GA-H57-USB3” and a “GA-P55A-UD4” can do it … I can do it with my “GA-P55A-UD7” no problem, sky is the limit. lol

Here he goes …
1- I read, fallow, download this : BIOS Modding: Introduction and Preparations
2- I read this : AHCI & RAID ROM Modules
5- I read this too, but MAN @SummoneR this is way beyond my understanding. Crazy Bios MOD dude : [Guide] Enhanced BIOS Modding of Award BIOSes
3- Finally Download (RAID ROM : v11.2.0.1527) this : https://mega.co.nz/#!RF0RyQaI!DR6Df1ngLK…MTpewWvLOc3OXyg
4- I read and follow “like my life depend on it” this : [Guide] Award/Phoenix BIOS Modding
6- Now I have my new “P55AUD7.F8B” renamed “P55AUD7.F9B” ready to flash.
7- Time to grab my balls and do it!

Be right back …

BIOS Flashed …
Like @BigDook say : BUY THAT MAN A BEER!!!

Wow that’s a dam nice BIOS MOD done on my board. Got my 5.5 TB ARRAY created and everything working fine.

I download and install Intel RST v11.2.0.1006 like @Fernando recommended for the RAID ROM v11.2.0.1527.
Here EXE file from Intel : https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_…x?DwnldID=21854
Now ARRAY is fully functional and manageable by Intel RST. This is AMAZING.

THANKS YOU VERY MUCH for your great forum, for all the helps you provide, all the post you take time to reply!
I’m going to Donate to your site right away.
