[Guide] CoffeeLake CPUs on Skylake and KabyLake mainboards

Thanks a lot, you helped more than you probably think man.

Is anywhere database of modded BIOS?
Search for AsRock B250-HDV
Thanks in advise!

XTU oc files attached.
Note that there is now a better but more complicated method by S.napi to enable sync all cores to work directly from the bios by patching various pei modules and dsdt adjustment.

So i havent given up with the lenovo motherboard yet, (im jus allowing my brain cells to cool off for a while) but iā€™ve acquired an Asus H110M-K and it should support the mod bios easy enough (following posts in the forum) However, and this might be a bit off topic, but I see it has a max 1GB integrated graphics, and I was wondering (hoping) if this bios mod could be used to increase the capacity to lets say 2GB for use wit coffee lake processor. any info or help is appreciated.

You could set up memory as 32MB in BIOS and realize that it will take as much memory as it want to.

Have Iā€™m right understood that for b250 motherboard modding BIOS is not enought for i5-8500 and I have to mod cpu-pins as described here? Fixing PCI-Express for Coffee Lake CPUs on Sky/Kaby Lake non-Asrock(and some new Asrock) motherboards

Did anyone have any luck getting a four core coffee lake CPU like an i3-8100 to work on an ASRock Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard. I tried a modded bios however the computer would not stay on. The power light was on for about 1 second and then it went off. It still works with my Skylake cpu when I reinstalled it.

Hi, I passed via excel datasheets 1151-1 and 1151-2 and received such differences.

Yes @thewkong - you did! [OFFER] ASRock Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac BIOS Coffee Lake Mod (2)

cade link download MMTool v5.2.0.24 ?

No, redistribution of NDA tools by AMI are not allowed in this forum. You can search elsewhere. Some searching tips can be found here.

Anyone here successfully modded a Gigabyte B150 Board or is it not worth to try?

Itā€™s (mmtool) on first page of a google search

I used this tool to clean the ME region of my current bios mod (image file) and then flashed the cleaned version by ā€œresettingā€ ME first as earlier. Everything seems to work but now the ME fw version shown in UEFI setup utility is permanently 0.0.0.0. Does this mean that I can flash the ME region freely via the built-in Instant Flash from now on? Should I change the value of the variable (see #116) back to 0x00?

- me_cleaner is not cleaning tool, it fully disable ME. if you need ME again (for what ?) you need flash back ME region with any tool.
- this bit need to erase for enable ME

I noticed a lot of progress has been made but there are too many pages to this thread currently.
I have a Maximus VIII Formula z170, will I be able to boot and overclock a Core i7 8700k if I follow the steps to get it booting? Will the 16 PCI-e lanes work?

Power delivery on my board is similar to the IX which Asus confirmed could be compatible with Intelā€™s support.

It would help if we could search within a thread by itself, instead of entire site only, maybe @Fernando can enable option from the ACP/Cpanel?

Unfortunately such option is not available within the Administration software, but the ā€œSearchā€ option of the Forum is very good, if the user enters the matching key word(s).

It gives good results, if you can find right thread. Too bad it canā€™t be limited to single thread, thanks for letting us know.

I put "coffee lake cpus" inside quotes, along with asus and maximus outside quotes, in the search box. That gave results from this thread and another that included "coffee lake cpus" in the title. Maybe there are other threads, but not on the first page of results. Probably if you put the entire thread name in the quotes, it would give only that thread.
