I have no knowledge in electronics so I need really detailed drawing of what I need to do (stupid proof details) :))))).
I have a friend who is electronist so he will do whatever you tell me to.
Really that MSI motherboards doesnĀ“t need connect 2 pins???
wolff2310
There is no similar board at Z370 lineup, so only experiments may helps.
I can make some port-bioses but it can be dangerous for your board cause VRM difference. And youāll need SPI programmer.
Not sure if itās an issue with the 9900K memory controller or what but I canāt for the life of me get the 9900K to run my 32GB kit @ 3200Mhz. If I pop the 6700k back in it runs fine.
Want to bet the Cpu IO and SA voltages are less than reported?!
Edit: Your best bet is to find someone to mod a Max IX Formula bios to use on your VIII.

I have a question about the ACPI tables. A want to patch it, but it runs into an error and leave it unpatched. What is this option for? The 2nd question is about the asus usb flash. If i have an EFI progammed chip, and after that i want to chnage the bios: is it enough to use usb flash or need to efi programming again. Tx
Hi guys,
Wondering if all my descriptors are unlocked then it should not be a problem to just use fptw64 to flash coffee lake mod bios via software?
Reason I ask is because on my other motherboard I want to go coffee lake too but not ready just yet so in anticipation I unlocked all my descriptors
via usb flasher device. I just wonder will fptw64 over write the ME backwards to an older version or do the individual components need to be flashed
separately?
Thanks.
hi
who could help me to mode bios ASUS PRIME Z270-A please for cpu cofeee lake pls ?thanks for you
I have a question to ask? Can the skylake and kaby lake cpus work on the coffee lakeās motherboard? How do I need to modify the BIOS?
My CPU is I5 7400, the motherboard is ASUS Z270, but it is broken.
I want to upgrade the motherboard to the ASUS Z390, but I still want to use the I5 7400 CPU.
@davidm71 - yes, if FD unlocked FPT will write it all, provided there is not a BIOS region related lock in place that blocks the BIOS region write (BIOS Lock, SMI/SMM lock, FPRR)
@superyijia - yes, this is 22nm chipset, you need to downgrade ME FW first, see here for info and ME FW version info etc
Modification of the bios motherboard Z390 GIGABYTE SLI pour un 6700K
Sorry, no, this wont work for Z390, I confused your post and was replying about Z270 initially
Just wanted to give people an update on overclocking the 9900K on the Maximus VIII Formula. Everything has been going well, I have it stable at 5250Mhz w/ 1.38v. Ran into a known Asus bug running at 5251Mhz+ causes the board to set 1.6v to these three voltages and setting them to 1V solves this issue allows me to bench at 5.45Ghz.

In MSI H110 Motherboards not needed connect 2 pins? Like picture
Wanted to report the successful flash of DSankeās 2003 Apex X bios using FPTW on my descriptor unlocked bios. Last week used a programmer to unlock first. Though at this time still using the 6700K cpu but with newer bios version which is way cool. Had to reboot into a grub shell and unlock bios locks and ME rewrite flags first. One word of warning to anyone who wants to do the same. For one use a Flashcat programmer off of the motherboard SPI header (Asus board only) to flash. I think thats safer and easier than a test clip. The other thing the system will reboot at least 4 times and even display a ābios needs to updateā message a couple times after which the system will reboot into bios no problem. Just watch those voltages. Still needs at least 0.8 AC loadline to get adaptive offset voltages normal.
@davidm71 - you can mod your BIOS directly to change the BIOS lock setting in the setup module, then redo the flash process, then next time they will already be unlocked.
I would only do that with BIOS Lock, you donāt want ME RE-Flash enabled all the time as it disables the ME FW temporarily (unless hard set in BIOS)
@svarmod Iām gonna mod MSI H110i pro m.2, actually I modded and I did put the bios to my board using coffeetime 0.6a
I added 3 microcode (906E9, 906EA, 906EB) for 7th, 8th(U0, B0)
Can I put i5 8400(U0) only with two isolated pins from pin mod pic? No need short two pins for MSI board, right?

If I canāt, what about i3-8100 or i3-9100f ?
Just wanted to report that using DSankeās 2003 Apex X mod that the voltage regulation is spot on what it should be on the 9700K which use to be on my old Z270-WS that had all the voltage issues not being accurate. Even the bios properly identified the cpu. Something to be said about using an actual Coffeelake bios vs modding a Kaby Lake bios for Coffeelake. Anyhow we need a separate thread or rather @dsanke please start your own separate thread so we can discuss in our own topic flow.
Thanks
if port BIOS donor and receptor have the same pwm controller , then the voltage adjustment usually work.
like m10a/m9a m10h/m9h , and many msi/asrock z370/z270.
